Do you really need both alternator belts?

Okay spent another few hours poking around...I did end up cutting one of the belts off (it was in terrible shape), but in the end will need to take everything off and re-install new belts. It's maddening how shredded these belts are, considering all of them were replaced at the same time less than 3...

Do you really need both alternator belts?

Thanks once again Growler Bear! I ordered a replacement fan pulley a while back as I thought it might be the culprit, but have yet to install it- maybe I do that if it's not too much trouble. I agree I think there's something out of alignment, either the pivot (long bar to which the adjustment screw...

Do you really need both alternator belts?

Hello again- I'm very, very tired of adjusting my alternator belts. I can go quite a while with them being nice and quiet, but I guarantee I'll have to tighten them at least once or twice a month. I'm running MD313660 belts. I've also noticed one of them seems to wear out pre-maturely, the one close...

Auber Digital Boost Gauge

Hi 204Explorer, thanks for the insight, I looked again and yes it says 5V, so no worries there!

You said you have 2 Auber gauges? Did you install this one? Curious what the ones you have are...I love them too!

Thanks,

Eric

Auber Digital Boost Gauge

Hi Everyone- I have purchased an Auber digital boost gauge that I intend to install alongside my Auber EGT gauge: Screen Shot 2018-03-27 at 1.46.36 PM.png Sensor: Screen Shot 2018-03-27 at 1.58.38 PM.png I'm wanting to clear up a few things before I start wiring stuff up and get in over my head. Bas...

Really loud exhaust, looks like something fell off.

Hi guys- So I had a brand new actuator put on. Problem is that I cannot ensure that the vehicle is making boost. I can't audibly hear the wastegate opening/closing, and I don't necessarily feel that it's making any additional power. The only thing I can think of what to do is borrow my friend's Go-P...

Really loud exhaust, looks like something fell off.

Thats what I suspected- basically I'm never generating enough boost, because the wastegate is half open. Making a slow car even slower :) The Mitsubishi actuator is incredibly expensive, and some on eBay are more affordable. The question is, the placement of the hinge on my eBay turbocharger are pre...

And here we have it. Seems quiet, looks heavy duty (though not nickel welds).

Hope it lasts a bit.

Really loud exhaust, looks like something fell off.

I'm really needing it fixed, even if only temporarily, before Friday. We had some unexpected snow, forcing many local shops to close down. Took it to my roommates Land Cruiser mechanic and explained the basics. They're going to tack weld a piece of 1/4 inch (6.35MM) sheet metal over the current open...

Hey Growlerbearnz (been spelling it "beanz" this whole time. You'd think I would have figured that out by now...sorry!)- Good memory, I did buy a new turbo...and since it was a dodgy eBay turbo (see photo attached) I bought a $29.00 1 year warranty. Should be reimbursed the full purchase p...

Really loud exhaust, looks like something fell off.

Hi guys- So this weekend I did about 300 miles on a trip to the Oregon coast and back, and 3/4 of the way through the exhaust became very loud. I looked under the car and saw the actual wastegate and was like "this seems off" Looking through some posts (I believe this photo is from Growler...

Another hard to start in cold temperature question.

Hi everyone- Happy to update this post to say everything seems to be working great now. I installed new plugs and the van fires right up in the morning as it should. I did not bench test the old ones yet, but it was definitely the problem! I've attached a few photos of the plugs, as well as the slig...

Another hard to start in cold temperature question.

Hi guys! Minor update. Filter is on (without the fancy little metal bracket on top) as well as the new pump. The pump itself definitely was broken on the old one, as this one primes and drips fuel out of the bleed bolt after only a few pumps. Went up to the Mount Hood the other day and parked it at ...

Another hard to start in cold temperature question.

Hello everyone- So the new pump and OEM filter arrived today after quite a wait from Japan. I've removed the old filter, and I noticed there are a few differences between the old pump and filter and new one. First the new pump has a much smoother feel with some resistance. The little oval flap on th...

Okay, so didn't get to much tonight but I can show you guys a few things. It appears my mechanic wired the button correctly, as the wire is running to the 6V solenoid. The negative wire runs to the fusebox at the firewall near the steering column. I didn't dig much further there. wiring2.jpg wiring1...
