Re: September cutoff for importing ??

That is rediculous.

Does anyone know what will happen to vehicle's already imported if the law changes? I'm guessing there would be a lot more hassel's in general, but can they make vehicle's imported before the proposed law comes into effect (which it hopefully never does) illegal as well?

Wow that sounds like an amazing opportunity for whoever picks one or both up. I just bought a 91 and will hopefully convert it in the next two years, if not I would be jumpin on it.

Re: Steps for registering BC Deli in Calgary

Ya mine was registered in BC too, but it looks like the headlights aren't compliant. No e-code! Darn. Hopefully my importer will cover it. I talked to some folks from this site on the phone (won't name any names), and they said if it was a private sale like mine was, that it is basically illegal to ...

Re: Steps for registering BC Deli in Calgary

Hey, Just talked to BOB IRELAND and he was a really nice guy and gave us some good news and hope. He said that the only issue with the front headlights is if the beam is pointing into oncoming traffic. However, he said if the headlights are e-coded (13) then they are GOOD TO GO!! As well he said if ...

Re: Steps for registering BC Deli in Calgary

Ya I just phones the folks at luxary imports in Calgary to get some facts and it doesn't look good. He said the Alberta Gov't/ MVA is basically trying to outlaw RHD vehicles in Alberta, despite the fact that they are not less safe than LHD and that the headlights and tail-lights are DIS approved and...

Re: Steps for registering BC Deli in Calgary

Hey, I'm going through the exact same thing here in edmonton. What I did was I sold my old vehicle and took the plates from it and put them on the Deli. Legally doing that you have two weeks to get it inspected and officially registered. I'm running into a few snags though. Apparently there were som...

Re: HELP! Emergency. Broke the headlight clicker.

Thanks eeerybody for the quick replies. I will def try to get a part from some of the poor folks who trashed their del's. I also went to two other mechanics today (one who deals with imports of all kinds, and one guy who had japanese looking writing on his signs). They both said the same thing. That...

HELP! Emergency. Broke the headlight clicker.

Hi! I'm new to this forums so please excuse my "new-show"-ness and my utter lack of mech/elec. savvy. I'm also new to a diesel engine, but I'm having fun with my 91 Exceed P35W with 167,000 kms!! So, just got my van from van-city and have been having a ball cruising around and learning as ...

Re: Blissful union, question marks

Hey, great questions and congrats on the new ride. I as well just got my new delica on thurs Mar 20th and love it. Its a 91 Exceed with high/crystal lite roof and mod stereo. I have a question relating to this post. Is the turbo always on in a Delica? Becuase I have a small red button that protrudes...

I must agree. This site is top notch. I just joined myself (My Delica comes from Van on THURS!!) but I have been an avid guest for months now. Cheers and keep it up please. Hope to meet some of you in the coming months and find some other Delica owner's in Edmonton to network with. I've seen you aro...
