Re: L300 Vacuum Hose Diagram
thanks for your reply, think i sorted it out and replaced some of the hoses with slightly longer, better quality lines... now to sort out some electrical issues as the glow plugs aren't clicking on.

L300 Vacuum Hose Diagram
Another rookie mistake... I labelled all the hoses when I took the head off three months ago. But then I got too busy with work and now none of my labels make sense. I've reassembled the whole thing, but am a little unsure about some of the hoses, namely that to the waste gate actuator. I've dug aro...

Electrical Question - Ground from the Fuel Pump?
Hi again,
I'm a goof and didn't label this ground wire and can't remember where it goes. Anyone have an idea?
Thank you.

Turbo Oil Hose Replacement?
Hi,
Anyone know where I can find a replacement for this here oil hose located at the bottom of the turbo (see attachment, #15 in the diagram)? There's a crack in mine and finding a replacement is holding up my rebuild.
Thanks!

Glow Plug Installation
Hi. About to start reassembling the top end of my 4D56 and wondering if there's any specs on tightening down the glow plugs? Not much mentioned in the manual, outside of "don't drop them". Not seeing any seals or anything that may have been damaged when the head was warped, but thought I'd...

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
not sure about the injector system, but the turbo looks like it at least needs new seals as oil is all over the bottom end of it. had planned on bringing it out to ADP this week, but spring break is messing with my schedule.

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
Thanks for that, edgar, the folks at CVI (local shop) do seem to think that the corrosion can be cleaned out, but now that the head's off it's not possible to do a pressure test for the bottom end to see what else may be wrong. Oh well, I'm out of town for a couple weeks... will dive back in once I'...

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
@ thedjjack --- Yeah, I've been avoiding the scrap solution, but I'm 95% there. @ konadog --- I've read over that topic and agree, I also don't really have the cash flow to go that route right now. @ falco --- Yes, that's rust, but not just rust spot which can be cleaned, we're looking at corroded p...

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
Oh, forgot to mention also that the engine seized shortly after refuelling. I've seen this in other posts and like those in the other posts, have been reassured by the driver that diesel was put in the tank.

Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
Hi. Lost compression in the engine back in June when my friend (I wasn't there) overheated the motor until it stopped running. Got a relatively inexpensive tow back from Osoyoos after being told the head was cracked by a mechanic and parked it underground until I had some time to open it up. Well, t...

Re: Could it just be a Lemon?
Agreed, Rattlenbang, those are my very concerns as well. Didn't really think of picking up a better cared for van... I like the sounds of that. Either way, rushing into this decision is what got me in trouble in the first place so I'm backing off. The van's getting towed in this week, I'll park it a...

Re: Could it just be a Lemon?
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Think I'll turn this situation into an opportunity for me to dive in and get my head around this engine. That's the good thing about breaking stuff, we get to learn how to fix it. And so it goes... I've already nicknamed this van "Silver Lemonade". Guess ...
