Re: Fuel Pickup on Rear Tank

Thanks for the quick response Alex. My mechanic brazed the holes in the pickup unit and managed to get it to stop leaking fuel. But it's running poorly now, difficulty idling & stalls out when braking. He's going to poke around with it again tomorrow and see what he can do. I'm wondering if maybe he...

Fuel Pickup on Rear Tank

Hello folks, I recently posted on here about a hard start problem, and then I noticed a fuel leak on the rear tank. I had the tank removed and had a bladder put in it. But when my mechanic put it all back, he said it's still leaking from the fuel pickup at the top of the tank, (not the fuel gauge se...

Re: Ahhhhh!!!

The problem is finding a wrecked L300 anywhere close to where I live. I wish they were as plentiful here as they are in BC. I'd be happy to get some used parts off a donor van. My mechanic said the leaky fuel tank is the main issue that needs fixing, and it's getting a new bladder in it now. The res...

Re: Ahhhhh!!!

Thanks for responding nogas. I guess I'll have to check specifically when my Deli was manufactured. The Amazon links show they are unavailable at the moment. And the prices on the Amayama site were a little out of this world. That's like half of what I paid for my entire van, turbo included!! :shock...

Ahhhhh!!!

Hello folks, I hope you are all well and had an enjoyable summer. After spending my entire summer on the road touring Provincial Parks, my van is in need of some love. It started with a fuel leak from the rear tank. My mechanic pulled it and it's now sent off to be resealed. As I was talking to my m...

Difficulty Starting 'on my 93 L300

Well I'm hoping this is the final chapter to this story. I had a friend help me change out the fuel filter after watching a 12 min video on YouTube. It's a pretty easy job as most on here will know. I originally tightened the filter on to the top part as hard as I could by hand. Shouldn't have done ...

Difficulty Starting 'on my 93 L300

Thanks guys, I did have the injector pump rebuilt shortly after I got the van, Probably been 6 or 7 years ago now. It was leaking all over the place, so I had to get it repaired. I'm not sure how long they normally last after being rebuilt, but it had 75K on it when I had that done, and I'm up to 15...

Difficulty Starting 'on my 93 L300

Here's something else. After dinner I decided to go have a look at the van over a few cocktails. All of the fuel lines appear okay. I couldn't see any visible leaks or anything. Then a friend popped by and was looking at things with me. He asked when was the last time I replaced the fuel filer, to w...

Difficulty Starting 'on my 93 L300

Thanks for this Alex. I was thinking of a possible air leak also. I was out in it driving today and it actually stalled out at a stop sign. I managed to get it to fire up again by giving it some throttle. I'll do as you and Growler suggest and see if there's bubbles in the line. I believe the fuel i...

Difficulty Starting 'on my 93 L300

Hello everyone, My van has been running stellar over the past few years, and I just recently completed a near 4000 K trip covering many places in Ontario. But lately my van has been a bit reluctant to start. When I turn the engine over, I have to give it a bit of throttle once it starts to fire up i...

Wiring up the rear cigarette lighter so it always has power

Thanks for your input guys. I just got back from an epic 3 week trip all over Ontario. Once again, the best campsites were of the non electrical type. I like what you've come up with Steven, and I think that's probably what I'll end up doing. I clicked on that link for the Audew, but it says it's no...

Wiring up the rear cigarette lighter so it always has power

Hello everyone, During these weird times, I find myself with lot's of time on my hands. I've been mostly camping in and around Ontario with a plan to perhaps drive out west at the beginning of August. I've camperized my van and made it so you can plug in hydro if the campsite has that option. But us...

Camper Interior Kit

I don't know of anyone that specifically does camper conversions for L300's. You'd have to sort out finding someone with those skills and see what could be done. I have an Westfalia bed n the back of my van that came out of a WV Bus from the late '70's. I had a retired friend who used to teach const...

Tinted Windows

Hey Alex, I had it done professionally. It was only $300 bucks and the difference is amazing. I bought a used set of curtains when I bought my van seven years ago. But they don't really provide decent privacy, and you can't clean them easily. I wished I had tinted my windows when I bought my van. We...

Tinted Windows

Sometimes I seem to overlook the the simple way of doing things. For example, I was considering how I could replace my old ratty curtains with something fresh & new. I have a bed in the back of my '93 L300, so it's really for privacy more than anything else. Then it hit me, Why not tint the windows?...
