How to Clean the cabin air system

Hey folks, just trying to figure out how to clean air intake for cabin air. Im guessing there is filter somewhere. I do a lot of gravel driving and am assuming this needs cleaning at some point. The system does not seem to blow as hard as it used to and i would like to ensure its not just plugged up...

Re: Need Crazy Ideas: Wastegate actuator broken: Turbo Confu

Hope I'm not hijacking this thread, but I've had concerns with my wastegate actuator as well.. The snap ring/cotter has been missing, so at times I've realized it was disconnected.. THis is always accompanied by huge loss of power, and lots more black smoke on acceleration.. I pop it back on, and it...

How do I tighten belts?

Hey Folks, I have a squeeling belt issue, after getting new ones put on..(they must have loosened) I am sure it is the dual belts ( central and attaching to a pulley to the turbo side and low on the motor...probably steering or water pump.... What is the process of tightening these belts?? Thanks fo...

readily available roof racks that fit on an L300 low roof

Hey folks, I know there has been tons of talk of roof racks, but I am now having a hard time figuring out which one will work for my low roof L300.. I tried a few at Canadian Tire but none were long enough to reach across the van, but the clamps would have fit the gutters.. Which racks work that are...

Re: block heater

I would love to put in an Espar... I talked ot an installer about the webasto.... $3000 + and hea said he wouldn't do it. As a certified installer he is not allowed to install on non-approved vehicles. Friends in Grand Prairie got an Espar installed on their deli for $2500. And Iwas drooling over th...

Re: Need help to figure out a turbo problem

Thanks folks for the advise. I know its hard to tell from the photos, but it seems obvious where the soot is coming from. I am sure the gasket is no good, and it might explain whythe problem developed over the course of the summer.(ie. the leak in the gasket getting larger) I am hoping nothing is cr...

Need help to figure out a turbo problem

HEy folks... This summer my Deli has started to pump out more and more black smoke, accompanied with a power loss. REcently its become worse, and I noticed that there is exhaust spewing where the turbo connects to the motor... The soot has built up now, and its become clear where it is leaking. I th...

Re: Best HEATED Fuel Filter

Hey there, I thought I would just mention which filter I've been using.. Racor 900 with an electric heating element. It heats to 90 with its thermostat. I have a Hotfox coolant heater in my fuel tank, so the racor heater only kicks in when the fuel line isn't warm enough. The replacement filters are...

Re: HELP!!! No power and stalling

Not to highjack this thread, but I've had very similar issues recently, lots more smoke, way less power, chain dragging only briefly, but when I'm revving higher, I get a loud whistle(on the verge of squeal). I was worried about a pully seizing up, but I'm not sure how to isolate it. IT usually is w...

Re: Trailers and towing

I have been towing a trailer for over a year now. I am a mason, hauling tons of stone, tools, sand,etc... I have a small utility trailer, which is easy to overload(largest load was 2700 lbs)s, as well as a tent trailer that weighs 1200 lbs..... The van definitely works harder. You are going to slow ...

Re: Who is running Veg and what systems?

HEy folks , nice to know who shares similar experiences. I've had my star wagon ( basic model) on WVO for over a year now, with very few glitches...(ran out of fuel a few times because my fuel gauge is sitting in the garage uninstalled yet). I put my system together, ordering parts from many differe...

Re: Webasto Fuel fired heater-WTB

Hey there, I also drool over those systems.. I talked to an installer for Webasto, and he told me he couldn't sell the unit to me, and he wouldn't install except on approved vehicles... And it would be well over $3000... Too bad. A friend that lives in Grand Prairie, however, had an Espar unit insta...
