Re: Wheel came off... Please read!

Installing wheel locks is not a solution if these are coming loose by themselves. The lock nut just stops someone from tampering with it. Even with a lock they could still loosen 2 or 3 nuts and you could lose a wheel. My guess would be that the installer did not use a mechanical torque wrench to ch...

Re: Need new tires?

If you want a capable off road tire, try the Wrangler Territory from Cdn tire. We have them on several vehicles and they are decent wearing and good in the snow and mud. The LT tires stand up better off road than the regular tires.

Re: Kei Truck

I have 92 hijet jumbo that I bought 3 years ago with 70,000km. I have put on 19K since then and all I have done is change the plugs, front struts and regular service. I would look for as low of mileage as possible. I am on my third JDM import and the one thing common to all of them is that the coola...

Re: Winter Tires

I am in to my second winter with a set of Goodyear Wrangler Terrritory 31-10-15 from Can tire on my 1995 Pajero These are among the best that I have used. They are very good in the snow and hold up very well on the gravel as well. They replaced the 265-70-15's and there are no clearance issues at al...

Re: '95 Pajero Q.

I would bet that the wheel bearings just need to be removed and repacked. For the front reflectors all you need is some stick on ones from an auto supply store.

Re: Help...new glow plugs...injection pump rebuilt still no

Sounds like there is air in the fuel system, did you try to bleed the filter again. I changed out the return line from the pump to the filter a couple of days ago. The old one was cracked at the end and it ran like crap until it ran for a couple of minutes.

Re: Delca/Pajero oil filter cross reference

I purchased it from a local supplier that specializes in lubes, filters, batteries and such. Baldwin is one of his main suppliers for filters. These businesses are quite common across the west and can get you pretty much any filter you need.

Re: Fuel economy question

I have a 1995 SWB with the 5 speed manual. It gets 30 mpg highway and 24/26 around home. Winter drops to the 20 range with more idle time.

Re: Flexible oil pan heater size

The 0 weight oils are designed for commercial and industrial uses. I have run them into the summer with no adverse affects. In fact my neighbour runs it year around in 5.9 cummins in his tractor. The real benefit is when you have to leave a vehicle parked without access to hydro. At -20 or 30 it can...

Re: Flexible oil pan heater size

I am curious why you would bother with a pan heater, when the same thing can be accomplished by using a 0-30 or 40 weight oil. The 0 - 40 oil lets the motors crank over pretty much like summer time. The faster a diesel will crank over, the easier they start.

Re: Tyee Imports BEEEEEF!

I bought a Pajero through Tyee last year. I found one up for auction and arranged to have it purchased with an agreed upon price for pickup FOB Campbell River. The vehicle was safetied and compliant as agreed upon. I had no problem with him.

Re: Things I learned today

The key to ensuring that a high lift jack will work when you need it is to keep a can of spray lube in the vehicle. Just lube the heck out of the pins before you use it and it will work like a charm. I have found that a long handled shovel is the best for digging out when you are hung up. The upside...

The odds of a melt down because of high egt at this time of the year are probably slim to none. Probably the same odds of finding grade out there that would make the engine even work up a sweat.
