has anyone got a fix for sprayers that don't work??... my reservoir is full
i hear what sounds to be the relay clicking behind the dash when i press the button,

i know this isn't that important a feature but i figure it will be handy for my trips up and down the coke this winter.

after the winter i will try to fit the bumper that i used to have on my sidekick with some slight mods to it obviously, so then i will just remove the whole system but figured it'd be cool in the mean time 8-)

hear is a picture of my sidekick bumper.... should look cool, but still need some serious planning to see if it'll work.... it could also look crap haha

Sweet bumper!

Very common not to work at first. Matter of fact, might be more accurate to say very uncommon to work at first. I've had success with breaking down the pump, and working the impeller loose (usu ends up with some grit in it), and then it works fine again for a while. Then it stops working again, and you repeat. :-D

Don't ditch em. I'm adapting them to my East Coast Bullbar as soon as I get a chance. :M

Very cool bumper...something like what I had in my mind when I first bought a welder and figured I could make a Deli bumper...well, now i know that isn't the case, but I haven't given up. Still working on something...I'm calling it "frankenbumper" and I'm going to be happy with it because I will have learned alot making it - though it may be ugly as hell!

With regards to the wiper spray - try taking the red sprayer that comes with the WD40 cans and spraying into the nozzle of the windshield washer spray...it worked for me. The spraying pump should make noice when you activate it but the lines are often clogged.

perfect, i was hoping that i would be a simple clog and not some pain in the ass motor issue.



good luck with that bumper!!
it's true welding and fabbing always looks good on paper and is super hard to duplicate in real life... for the garage hobbyist anyway!!! i didn't make the bumper obviously... it's from www.shrockworks.com but when i am welding stuff together i find less is more!!! keep it simple!!!



PHIL, how much did you pay for the E.C.B.?? (if you don't mind my asking) and do you know how much it weighs??? i'm worried that the Shrockworks one will be quite heavy for an already heavy truck

it weighs in a 100lbs and 170lbs with the winch

I assume you have your lights on when you do it, right?
If it is still no spray, try simple needle to clean nozzles.

If you hear no pump noise when you push the button (with headlights on) you have a pump issue. The rubber seal at the front of the pump leaks washer fluid into the motor where is corrodes the armature of the electric motor. It does not take much rust to stop the motor from spinning. The pump lives in the R/H fender. Pull the R/H front wheel off, remove the plastic liner from the wheel well. Un plug the wires from the pump and check for electrical power while someone pushes the button for you. If you have power you have a motor that needs some clean up. To remove the motor it is easiest to remove the entire washer assembly. There are 4 or 5 nuts on the inside of the fender that you need to remove, 2 on the filler neck and 2 others. You will see them, when you are in there. Once you remove the whole assembly , remove the pump from the bottom. It is held on with a clamp. Now if you want to take the pump appart make sure you make a mark on the 2 halfs so when you reassemble it you get the two pieces together correctly. The motor is held together with 3 tabs that are just bent over on the housing, carfully straighten the tabs and pull gently appart. Now that you have the motor appart you can clean up any rust that has built up on tha aramature. Check the brushes and make sure they are ok. Remove all grunge and crud. While you have it apart now drill a small hole in the bottom of the pump housing, make sure you dont drill into a magnet. At this point I sprayed some LPS 3 (rust inhibitor) on the armature and in the housing. Make sure you dont get any on the brushes or the slip rings. Now for reassembly: The fun part is on reassembly getting the brushes to stay in the right place. Put the pump back together, bend over the tabs, plug it into the wiring harness and make sure it works. If it doesnt work there is a small overheat mechanisim in the back end of the motor that may be tripped or still full of crud. Clean it out with electrical contact cleaner. Best of luck. Set aside 2 hours for the first time you do this.

I should have taken pics. I still need to fix Spinalguys washers...... And do his ball joints and tire rods.... The fixing never ends.

Are the Pajero's and the L400's the same layout for pump location? I've tried to locate the pump and I'm not sure if I am seeing two horns or two pumps? Does each sprayer have its own pump?
This does seem like a unnecessary feature but if its there it may as well work.

Does anyone know if you can buy a new sprayer motor for the headlights, took mine apart and it was VERY rusty got it to work for a couple days then it died and the seals were leaking the whle time too...........
