Yeah likely. I was working at Ridgeview from 8-9. Mine has the pealing paint on the hood. Do conversions on the side....doing a Delica this weekend!

I just was curious and loooked back, turns out for example that only Action Parts could get me ProComp shocks back in Sept 2008 at $70.00 each, so that who I sourced from for those.

As I said, you really need to compare, for example I got a great roof rack that was being discontinued from a specialty shop from NAPA.

For brake parts I ended up not using either because it seems like you can get them way cheaper in Ontario. I've bought from these guys for brake rotors and pads for my Chrysler, and VW Corrado and have been satisfied so far: http://www.etopline.net/

Must be tough to keep a business like this running in a place like Canmore though, hard to imagine how 2 of them manage to stay alive, must be the retail stuff.

Hi,

This is Jeff from Canmore Auto Parts in Canmore, Ab.

I can appreciate what you guys are saying about pricing in Canmore, I live here as well. The 1067 oil filter is only listed in my catalogs as fitting a 85-87 Ford Ranger 2.3 Diesel. My warehouse only stocks 9 for all of Alberta. I acutally got the number from here! Someone was kind enough to post it. I use the pricing set forth by the mfg. I don't adjust it for walk in, it is the MSRP. Of course I have room to move, however, there are enough of these in town, that when the area shops quote the price for an oil change, they quote list. In an effort to support area shops, which is something I take very seriously, I can't undercut the retail price without upsetting them. If you have an account please use it. If you would like to set up a Delica Club account, come and talk to me, only you guys would have access to it, not guys driving through. We never interionally screw anyone, and I wish a different $6.00, filter would fit. I take no pleasure in charghing 58.00 for a filter. If you find something else that would fit, please let me know.

I also read in the forum that we are grumpy, and all I can say is everyone has their days, and we try our best to always help everyone we can. Sometimes it is hard, but we appreciate your business. Delica's are not the easiest to get parts for.

I also hear my driver has issues with tailgating, again, everone has thier days.

Call me personally if any of there issues remain unresolved.

Thanks for your support, Jeff Kutzner

Thanks for the reply Jeff,

The OEM oil filters out here in Beautiful British Columbia are usually around $25.00 and the Taiwan knock-off filters around $15.00. The OEM ones are better by far. If you spend some time looking around this website you will discover much information regarding parts numbers &c., I recommend "Delica Wiki" (look for the green dot on the forum page).

I think a Delica Canada account would be good, especially for Delicas passing through, you can recognise Delica Canada Delicas by a sticker that looks like this: :M . It's called the Mitsumaple. There is also another Delica sticker that you can see in the top left corner of this page and if you wish we can send one of these stickers to you to put in your shop window when you have the account set up. What kind of pricing would you be able to offer us?

I drove through Canmore the other day but it was only a whistle stop at the Timmy Ho's on the highway. Next time I am through that way perhaps I will have more time and visit your shop.

Best Regards, Falco.

I would welcome anyone into the store. The problem is, of course, getting parts for the RHD's. I would reccomend to all your members to get every part number you can for your vehicle. We don't have time to research every single number, and I don't stock JDM parts as a rule. You guys with prices (16.99 and 25.00 and 15.00) can you get me part numbers. The filter we got Steve was for a diesel. The 1067 or Wix 51067 is 4" diameter (odd) M26 thread (odd) 20lb relief valve (very odd) with antidrainback valve. It is so strange of a filter that WIX doesn't even produce them, they buy them from GMP in South Africa! Are we all talking apples and oranges with prices or does one filter fit all RHD's? If you get me some part numbers of what you are looking for , I can work on it. Thanks. Jeff.

I just heard back from my RHD guy in Vancouver. This is what he said:
Query: prices and availability and part number if possible for a 92 delica exceed (Steve's vehicle) oil filter. thanks (oem and taiwan if possible). it is a diesel, but i don\'t know which one.

$45ea for genuine Mitsubishi. I don't have a cheap aftermarket filter
Plus freight from B.C. puroulator. If you have suppliers and part numbers, please let me know! I had another guy looking for glow plugs (mitsubishi). The numbers didn't even work with the dealers..... anything you can do to help. If you want to make a list of common Canadian numbers you have discovered, you can email me at jeff@canmoreautoparts.com.

Hi Jeff,

Most Delicas are diesels and the number of the engine is the "4D56T", you will find a PDF file for the shop manual of the 4D56T, amongst other manuals in Delica Wiki in the "Delica Canada Technical" section of the Forum Page. One contact for parts is "Rocky Mountain Imports", search the name (the search engine is in the top right of this page), the guy's name is John Hamilton. A great deal of the Delica parts are also parts on other North American vehicles, such as the "Montero" (a good word to search), for instance brakes.

Hope this helps,

Falco.

P.S.: $45 is way too much for an oil filter.

Hi Jeff
Great to see a parts vendor who doesn't specialize in JDM parts participate here.

For those of us with RHD imports, we need to be more proactive when it comes to sourcing parts - don't go in looking for a filter for a Delica: get the part number somewhere first. Either the wiki, or a friend, or even the old part that's on the vehicle to cross match. All the parts guys (and girls) roll their eyes with the oddball stuff- doing a bunch of homework to sell a filter, then get ground for a discount. If I go in with a part number, or a North American application, and understand that it probably isn't sitting on the shelf, I've had good or great service and pay a fair price. It might help that over the 5 years and three different vehicles they've recognized that I'm a steady customer, but why not make it as easy as we can. Being a bit self sufficient is just part of owning these vehicles.

FWIW, I've been paying about $35 for genuine filters, and $37 for a napa 1067.

Thanks for helping keep us rolling!

Delica Canada account is set up (#888). Pricing is trade - if part numbers are supplied. Hope this helps. I do already deal with Rocky Mountain, thats where I get my OEM JDM (thats where the 45.00 came from). I hope this helps.

Wow, this thread has been busy since I last looked in. That's awesome that it has resulted in an account for Delica Forum members.

Jeff got me my Grant steering wheel adapter kit for the Delica using a number that I got off this forum as well, and it worked great for a Grant I bought off fleabay.

I've found Jeff to be great at returning emails and doing research. To be fair Action also responded to my emails, just not quite as fast. I really prefer to make parts inquiries and orders via email, it's much more convenient than phoning in.

I spoke to the NAPA Driver a few weeks back and he seemed friendly enough, can't speak to his driving however. I think that all Jeff needs to do is tell his driver to read this thread, then he can't be blamed for being a bitchy boss!

I'm the one that set up the marriage between NAPA and John Hamilton at Rocky Mountain Imports, so I'm especially glad to hear that it's working out.

Jeff, your guys seem to be grumpy old men, just like I am. But I say that in a positive way, because they have been in the business so long, they really do know their stuff, and now they will have that knowing smile for account #888!
