Warning! ProComp shocks problem
Hi All,
While installing manual hubs I discovered something odd on the left side. Now I am wondering who to blame: the product quality, the installer or just my bad luck. Also I would like to know if anything can be done to fix the bushing or the shock needs to be replaced.
Thank you in advance.
Sergiy.

Re: ProComp shocks concern
Sergiy,
The rubber bushings get worn out pretty quick. That's a known issue. You should change them to polyurethane bushings. Just a few bugs, but will improve the lifetime of your shocks a lot.
Cheers

Re: ProComp shocks concern
what is the moister around the connection? did you spray it with something or is the shock leaking?

Re: ProComp shocks concern
Profister,
How long have you had those shocks installed ? I remember when I did mine, I had a bitch of a time putting the bar through the bushing. I had to gease the heck out of it and had to press the bushing back in using a vise.

Re: ProComp shocks concern
Wrong type of bushings for that type of mount. You need one piece bushings, not the 2 piece units. You probably did not get the right kit for the application -

Re: ProComp shocks concern
That was my guess. I was wondering how the hell two pieces could stay in place without anything holding them from the sides!Wrong type of bushings for that type of mount. You need one piece bushings, not the 2 piece units.
Golf Cart - I bought these shocks from Mardy and installed by RJD in June last year.

Thats odd. I bought mine in September from Mardy and they were one piece bushing that were an hour glass shape. From your pic, it looked like the bushing split in half

Re: ProComp shocks concern
I am not sure if it was one piece and it just torn apart or there were two pieces originally but it needs to be replaced for sure. Looking at the mounting I do not like it at all to be honest.
Great thanks everybody for your help.
