Dino's New Flooring
First off all the BIGGEST THANK YOU to TradisDeli Jay for his nightshift!!
Finding the right material was already a challenge. Initially I want to use Phenolic plywood, but unfortunately it's not available in BC not even something similar. So we try to find an alternative. We ended up using normal plywood and as the top layer very durable garage floor vinyl tiles from HomeDepot. The tiles had adhesive lips on each side and as we glued them together the sheet was almost as heavy as the peace of plywood :) In the end we don't even have to glue the tiles to the plywood. So easy to change in the future. We are really happy with the finished piece and don't have to worry about wet snowshoes, snowboards or dirty mountainbike stuff in our van.

"adhesive lips" .... Hurgh! Hurgh! (in my best Bevis and Butthead laugh) ...
Looks good, very durable. I'm thinking you obviously don't have children to haul around?

No children on this side. Just a lot of gear for two.

What did you use for vibration/sound dampening between the metal floor and the wood base?

A layer "silent floor foam" from HomeDepot. $20, it comes in a long roll.jfarsang wrote:What did you use for vibration/sound dampening between the metal floor and the wood base?

This floor is great and perfect for our camping set-up! No way I want the carpet back.

Re: Dino's New Flooring
That's pretty slick. So I take it you're not re-installing the second row seats?

No, we have converted our Delica to a 2-person camping vehicle, but we are still be able to have three people on the back bench if we need it.Todd64 wrote:That's pretty slick. So I take it you're not re-installing the second row seats?
