Re: An Auditory Challenge - Can you identify this sound?
sounds like your valves ticking possible that stuff loosened deposits on the valves and now you have the loud tick. put a liter of vegetable oil in your tank and run it through. good lubricating properties. I thought of that too. However I am not sure adding the veg oil right now living in Calgary ...

An Auditory Challenge - Can you identify this sound?
So I have been having some interesting challenges with the van lately. One of which is figuring out why my glowplugs are burning out prematurely, still working on this issue. A friend suggested using the following product to help with the winter starting. http://www.powerservice.com/dfs/ So i did. T...

Sure made me think about applying their idea in a few ways, especially with the new CNC in the shop.

Timing Advice
Anyone have any tricks to setting the timing? Could low idle leading to stall mean too far advanced? Even what degree ATDC our L400 should be at? Some articles say 6 some say 12. I am on a long journey to get the timing right any tips will likely reduce the process for me. How about tools to rent, b...

New IP Seal New Glow Plugs, Now How to Fine Tune Timing
After a marathon of working on the van I managed to get it running. Yahoo! Now must adjust Idle as it is too low. I must have changed the setting inadvertently. Does anyone know which Cable to adjust? There are two on top of the Injection Pump: drivers side or passenger side? Or could it be the set ...

Glow plug test
I replaced the Injection Pump Seal. Now I am ready to go, but no luck in starting. See thread http://www.delica.ca/forum/rough-start-black-smoke-with-cool-temps-in-calgary-8806.html I thought I would recheck everything just to eliminate my doubts. Started with glow plugs. Tested to see if there was ...

Re: Rough Start Black Smoke with Cool Temps in Calgary
Well I dove in... Everything went well in terms of procedure. Awkward and a healthy dose of patience is required. One problem though, can't get the van to start. Yeah I know some of you may be shaking your heads but, life is full of learning and I definitely have learned a lot about my van this week...
