sounds like your valves ticking possible that stuff loosened deposits on the valves and now you have the loud tick. put a liter of vegetable oil in your tank and run it through. good lubricating properties. I thought of that too. However I am not sure adding the veg oil right now living in Calgary ...

Well I dove in... Everything went well in terms of procedure. Awkward and a healthy dose of patience is required. One problem though, can't get the van to start. Yeah I know some of you may be shaking your heads but, life is full of learning and I definitely have learned a lot about my van this week...
