Re: Buying from Auction, or off the lot in Vancouver?

What would make you think you have to do timing belt / water pump to get it on the road in Canada ? Chances are that that was just done in Japan anyhow or not that long ago. Take $800.00 off your list there :-D

Re: Buying from Auction, or off the lot in Vancouver?

Would that be advise from a Deli service center or dealer that has to justify their overhead and prices  ? Besides that how much does a hose and a few minutes of your time cost ? If you go by what these " Deli mechanics " are telling you to do, most can be accomplished in an afterno...

Re: Buying from Auction, or off the lot in Vancouver?

I could never understand the myth on this site that as soon as Japanese vehicles come to Canada they need thousands of dollars worth of work. Last time I looked the Japanese maintain there vehicles alot. Of course there are some that are neglected but there are 30 others to that ONE that are not and...

Re: L400 Model codes and what they mean....

Can someone help me find the chassis code for a L400 gas in 4WD ? Also do all the models have the bench seats that can be folded down into a bed ?

If anyone is paying 1K for L400 lights, they're getting bent over. Customs lights can be made with a few hours of your time and some research.

Re: Auction in japan?

t's a huge process to go to an auction in Japan. If you think your going to fly there, pick your van in auction, etc, your sadly mistaken.... Might as well pay an importer ( not a dealer ) to do it for you....

Re: Shops in Canmore/Banff for service?

I would not have thought twice to take the van back then and there and make sure his supervisor knows about his comment. They're paid to do a job, not to voice their negative opinion on something they know nothing about obviously. Your asking for trouble leaving it there.....

Re: philippines

As long as it's 15 years old and you can prove it, no worries. Also don't worry about the RHD ban, do something about it!
