Re: 1990 Skyline GTS-4 AWD 4 Door Sport Sedan 49,000 km, $8000

All Wheel Steering what is it? Thanks, The Skyline has HICAS all wheel steering. All 4 wheels steer at speeds above 50 kph. The rear wheels turning only a few degrees at most. I find it quite noticeable though, the rear of the car rotates or swings a little as you turn instead of leaning and slidin...

Very nice :M
Nice thing about the 4 door is it doesn't attract the kind of attention from the police that the coupes do, yet it has the same wheelbase and performance as a coupe.

1990 Skyline GTS-4 AWD 4 Door Sport Sedan 49,000 km, $8000

I imported this car myself earlier this year and have the original auction sheet. The car was a grade 4 B on auction. I have installed new 16 inch tires, DOT headlights and done a brake job. Easily passed OOP BC inspection. Currently plated and driven daily. This car is in amazing condition and was ...

Room in container for one vehicle

Hi all, I'm arranging a 40 foot container from Japan. At this point there is going to be room for one more vehicle. Anyone interested in buying a vehicle on auction and directly importing to Vancouver? Just drop me a line. Shipping is around $1000 to $1200 US for a medium sized car. The container wi...

Re: trans shifting eratic, overdirve kicks in too soon!

Check the rubber mounts on the transmission as well. If they are really shot the trans can jump around a fair bit and cause the shudder you are feeling, especially 1st to second gear change.

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

So now the holes are all filled, sanded, refilled, sanded, primered, sanded, painted. Looks like a new roof now and still have to do the clear coat. You can see in the pictures how the filler just fills the dished out area that had been rust. No bare metal left showing outside the fiberglass. Very i...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

I have stripped out several crystal light vans for parts and just for a test I pushed a screwdriver straight through the roof panel on the rust spots . Every one came out directly on the point at which the webbing is `glued` to the outer skin . These joints are not spot welds but are a rubberized m...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

now I'm no expert in rust by any means, but if you only get rid of the rust on the outside, and it has actually gone all the way through, do you not risk having the rust re-appear all around your patch later? (I know I had a professionally done patch on my previous vehicle that had exactly that hap...

Some more pics from today. I previously posted pics of the bubbles, here are more detailed ones. bubbles.jpg shows the 3 in a row bubbles and the two larger ones better in context of their location. bubble 1.jpg and bubble 2.jpg show the two larger ones after sandblasting. pinhole.jpg shows one of t...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

the only rust spot I have that is at all worrysome is beside the front sunroof, I would like to check it from the bottom as well as it is bubbled pretty badly, but I have tried and tried and I just can not figure out how to get that front headliner out! That was one of my two big ones. You pretty m...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

Nice pictures James. That does help clarify it for me a lot. Out of curiosity, how long did it take to strip the inside of that roof James? Also James, do the blisters we do see on your roof correspond directly to spot welds? I started to disassemble the roof light today but soon found I would be ta...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

I just finished a 1937 chev that had been left outside for the last 30 years and had no rust in the roof! No paint left on the roof either. I think the quality of the steel and coatings is definitely a factor, carbon content, alloys, anodizing etc. Remember the early days of Japanese imports and peo...

Re: Roof Rust - Mythbuster

So what if you simply rhino line over the roof, without getting rid of the rust? Will it get worse, or just stay the same? You need to get rid of the rust in most cases. It may well be arrested if it gets really well sealed in, however if any moisture can get at it in any way it will continue to ex...
