Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Hey Craig, I uploaded a couple pics today, but they are nothing too special. Gives you an idea what it looks like though. Almost like yours, but not as fancy....yet :-D I'm still trying to figure out how to shrink my pics so I can upload it...but I don't spend very much time on the computer these da...

Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Ok, a bit of an update in case anyone is interested. The Space Gear finally passed inspection, even the windshield! Word came down from the big boys at Transport Canada that the E1 stamped on the windshield is equivalent to North American safety standarts. So in case anyone else runs into this probl...

Re: L400 Upper A-arm problem
Thanks Falco Appreciate the welcome. Once I get a bit more settled in with my family I will certainly look into meets and such. Hopefully I will actually find the time to make it to them. :-D As my van is actually our daily driver as well, it is well outfitted for whole-family-mini-expeditions. And ...

Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Actually, I have asked around a bit by now, and the different shops, and even the local authorities cannot agree upon one answer. The glass is actually stamped 'Safety Glass', Lamex, E1, etc etc. Its laminated safety glass and it says so on it. Technically it is as safe as anything you can buy on th...

Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
You bet. I agree with you both. As mine is a LHD, I'm hoping not to attract too much attention that way.
And having owned and driven big trucks for many years, I'm no stranger to DOT attention. The best thing is to keep it legal. Some of the laws kinda make you wonder sometimes, though.....

Thanks Hammy....I know what you're saying. I see jfarsang's point as well, as safety is paramount, and we all want to stay legal.

Re: L400 Upper A-arm problem
Thank you guys for the help.
My apologies for asking questions that have already been dealt with in other threads.i did try to search through them, but I was under pressure to act quickly, so I just asked. I will read the suggested material, and start acting properly!

Cheers, Dan

Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Hi. Yes, perhaps that is not quite the right attitude on safety factors in general, and I'm not one to operate unsafe vehicles. I do however feel that it is a bit strange that a perfectly fine windshield made from safety glass coming from a country that has some of the highest safety standards in th...

Re: Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Thanks for the help. Good idea keeping the windshield as a spare. I know all about rock chips from gravel roads! ( Drove big rigs for years...)

Re: L400 Upper A-arm problem
Hi, Is the ball joint in a 1997 Space Gear/ Delica the same as in a L400? I need one for the passenger side of my Space Gear for it to pass inspection. Any info on where I could get one? The running gear and suspension on my van is supposedly identical to a Pajero, so I'm wondering if Montero parts ...

Took my Space Gear to Canada!
Hello y'all. I'm not entirely new to this site, having posted a couple questions before actually deciding to take my 1997 Space Gear with me on my move from Switzerland to Alberta. Now I have it here, and it passed customs and hopefully everything will work out. Love the Space Gear/ Delica! Speciall...

Re: 1997 Mitsubishi Space Gear 4x4 B (Delica/ L400) VIN
Hello I have a couple more questions regarding the import, or rather, the maintenance of my vehicle once its in canada. What I'm wondering about is replacement parts. How hard is it to get, for example, a thermal fan clutch for my 4G64 engine? Or a rear windschield wiper motor? Those are two things ...

Re: 1997 Mitsubishi Space Gear 4x4 B (Delica/ L400) VIN
Check your tires and look for the `DOT` marking around the side wall. If you see that stamped anywhere on the side wall and the tire is not nearing its wear limits it will pass no problem on an inspection. Also confirm that the vehicle has left hand drive headlamps. If for any reason it has RHD lig...
