Re: Alternator not charging

I have EXACTLY the same problem. Batter down to 9v so I ran jumper leads from another vehicle idling and tested the plug with 2 wires going into the ALT and the greasy yellow wire that looks like it might be a ground (which also came out). With 12 point something volts at the battery I tested 10 and...

Re: Why bother with a return valve? What do you think?

i have a two tank setup, two valves - supply and return return positive = veg/diesel goes from the return to a 'T' connection that goes back to the injection pump. return negative = veg (hopefully not)/diesel goes through the valve and back to the diesel tank... I can draw it out for you but I think...

Why bother with a return valve? What do you think?

I have an issue with my return valve. But why do we bother having them anyway? Whats wrong with constant purging? Why not just have a constantly looping system going back in to the T and towards the IP? I never turn it off so the return fuel goes back to the diesel tank anyway... I was thinking of j...

Re: Changed tranny fluid. No transmission now. WTF?

OK thanks... I knew it had to be the stupidest thing possible. At least I can entertain you guys. The taller wider dipstick has to be the tranny oil. So ill drain everything, fill with dextron 2 and then replace the oil with some 5w-40 for the winter missions... As for flushing the tranny oil... any...

Changed tranny fluid. No transmission now. WTF?

Hello Delica world... So since its the beginning of Winter and the snow is falling here in the Koots, I decided it would be a grand old time to change my transmission fluid. So with the front wheels on ramps, I drained the (93' auto) tranny fluid pan, then removed the pan, cleaned the filter, put ev...

Looking for some good clean veg! COWICHAN/ COBBLE HILL AREA

I understand there is some sort of community coop thing going on here, but the membership is pretty high ($50 and Im only here for a month or 2 of the year) and it doesnt say what the SVO is sold for (How much less than diesel?...

Re: Reattaching steering rack

All done! Woke up with a brainwave this morning and figured it out... I was trying to put it on completely differently to how it should be (and was). Silly me! Hope someone got a laugh out of this and could see the issue! Not a hard job at all really... just another embarrassing thread about creatin...

Re: Reattaching steering rack

Thanks for the reply... I cant be the only muppet trying to replace a steering rack with no prior experience- surely! Wondering if I can smash out the lug nuts and put in longer ones... I'll call Coombs Country tomorrow if I still cant get it. Guess its a bad idea to drive it with the steering not p...

Reattaching steering rack

I'm having difficulty getting the steering rack to attach back to the joint in the photo. DSCF3175.jpg Its like the bolts aren't long enough to get a nut on the other side Everything else is attached (4 bolts and 2 hoses) I tried loosening the screws at either end so the shaft will slide back and fo...

Re: Hydraforce valve issues

Gave the solenoids a little bang around... one is working great the other is 50%... "If in doubt, give it a clout" seemed to work... woooooohooo! Back to free transport and humungous road trips to far away mountains! I did spray wd40 on the o rings.... what can I do about that? Should I be...

Re: Hydraforce valve issues

Yeah theyre moving a bit out the body. They click and splash a bit but no obvious movement. Ive never seen what they should do outside the body either. I hope they're not toast. Thats what you meant by actuating right? Applying current to them whilst the solenoids are out?
