Looking for 16 inch steel rims for my 92 SWB Pajero

I would like to install a set of Michelin 215/85R 16 at2 tires on my SWB Pajero and prefer steel rims. The Pajero currently has 215/85R 18 alloy rims with worn out Geolander MT tires. I really like the height and narrow width of the tire but apparently that size of tire is NA in North America and the closest available match is the Michelins
It is my understanding that the Toyota tundra tires have the right bolt pattern and off set but the center bore diameter is too small. The center bore diameter on the toyota tires are 110 mm and the pajero requires 112. Unfortunately the toyota tundra steel rims cannot have the center bore enlarged because of the design of the rims. Perhaps there is another toyota rim that is a better fit with center bores that can be enlarged???
The Chev 6 bolt rims also have the correct bolt pattern and a offset which can be used but needs excessive boring of the centers to fit the front Pajero hubs. I am hoping to avoid machining costs if I can
If anybody has some 16 inch rims for the Pajero or can suggest some subsitute rims, I would appreciate a reply

Old FJ40s have 16" steel rims, I run them on my L300 fit no problem (mine not for sale).
Cheers

also... a
215/85 on a 16 inch rim is 30.4 inch tire diameter
215/85 on a 18 inch rim is 32.4 inch tire diameter

Physically tried the toyota rims with the 110 mm centers. Would not fit. Measured the bores with metric caleprated electronic vernier calipers and verified the toyota's were 110mm. The 18 alloy rims I have, measured 112mm. Maybe I am not measuring straight accross the rim but it looks like I am centered on each stud hole
What I meant by closest fit is best match for the high high aspect ration and narrow tire with readily available tires
Thanks for your reply

Did a little research online concerning the fj 16 inch rims. Would you happen to know the year of the rims? It seems that the early FJ 16 inch rims were split rims. Not really interested installing split rims. They are little dangerous and I believe that they need tubes installed with the tires.
Thanks for you help

thats strange. I just last week got the rims I ordered (steel black daytona style) and I ordered them, 6 x 5.5 inch bolt pattern and 108 center bore and they fit perfectly.

They have 108 centers and are not split rims. Standard wagon wheels. Think it was a 1976 FJ40 (had drums prior to going to 38" tires, friend owns it).
here is a photo:

I am not sure why mine is apparently different. Perhaps my front hubs are aftermarket. Are your hubs automatic or manual? Mine are Automatic
Thanks again for the feedback

16 inch rim problem resolved. Rims that I had recieved were not Tacoma Rims. Recieved myToyata Tacoma rims and they fit fine with some minor modifications. Hub tabs on the rims need to make gound off. Takes a few minures with a grinder. Tires are installed, happy with the results.
Thanks for the help
Anyone want to buy some narrow 18 inch alloy rims for the Pajero? Jist kidding, it is way to much trouble and expense to find tires to go with the rims
