Saw the 2006 series about 2 years ago after I downloaded it (I know me bad). I believe it was a 4 part series from Australia. Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I remember one of the scenes when they were driving those old classic cars through the Gobi Desert, unreal what they were doing. As well those old classic cars were all open concept so these guys were exposed to all the harsh elements when they were driving

If it's still available out there I would recommend watching it.

Profister, do you know if the 2010 version was filmed and will it be broadcast as future documentary somewhere

Another series I really enjoyed watching was called "By Any Means" starring Charlie Boorman. He was the other half of the Long Way Round and Long Way Down series starring Ewan McGregor.

This was the ABC show that I purchased after watching the series.

It is brilliant.It's well worth the look.

The character's are all very real.

Thanks guys for the replies.I really enjoy this kind of information which keeps me closer to the real world. I wish they had the region 1 DVD in NTSC format. Yes, I could convert it but I will try a torrent first; I found a couple so far. If that works well than I can save $46. I am not sure if National Geographics is planning to release a 2010 series but hopefully they will.
