Other vehicles
I am curious as to what other vehicles the members of this forum may own & drive. Also, I would be interested to know if your Delica replaced a vehicle, & if so, what kind was the previous car, truck or van?

I'm car-less at the moment... Moving to Virginia USA
Looking forward to getting a Deli in the US, prefer a 1986+ L300

And I'd be interested to know if your current wife that replaced your old girlfriend was a smart decision and if...

Oh yeah, our L300 made sense to our lifestyle. It is an addition to our garage.
Other vehicle we own is a Nissan X-Trail.

Re: Other vehicles
OK, this is going to be a bit of a list. Here is what myself and my SO currently have:
- 06 M45 Infiniti - my "daily" driver
- 01 LS430 Lexus - her "daily" driver
- 96 Suburban (400,000 kms) - my beater. Not worth anything except to me but is sure handy to have once in a while.
- 04 Honda ST1300 motorcycle - my touring bike
- 00 Honda CBR 1100 Blackbird motorcycle - scratches my "hooligan itch"
- 08 Suzuki SV650 S motorcycle - hers. I ride it when I have the urge to play "Rossi".
- 93 Delica - got it to save her buying a VW van!! Best move ever! I have to confess that we don't use it as much as we should but I also have to confess that I enjoy driving it as much as any of the others, especially around town on winter roads.

My bike

Re: Other vehicles
Gumdrop (1992 L300 Super Exceed) is my only vehicle at the moment.
She replaced a 1986 VW Jetta GL, very nice to drive, but not big enough for telescopes. I had originally looked at a Subaru Outback, but when I saw Delicas around town and realized how cool they were, I visited Japanoid, took one for a test drive, and was hooked.
The only other vehicles I operate at the moment are some of the school's planes, all Piper Cherokee 140s - C-FKKF (my favourite) http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/C-FKKF.html, C-GCEP http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/C-GCEP.html and C-GODP http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/C-GODP.html. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

Re: Other vehicles
My 1990 L300 replaced a 1974 Westie, It was a hard decision but realized that
I wanted to drive the van in the winter. The westie had no rust so I couldn't bear
to do it. Sold it and got top dollar. Who gets $7400 for a westie nowadays ?
Anyway, it also replaced a 1980ish rusted out bucket - toyota 4x4 stationwagon.
One of those tiny ones.. The kids nicknamed it 'Brownie', lol, I pulled out more little
SUV's out of snowed-in culdesacs and snowbanks than I can remember. I think
it had 4-500,000 km's on it. It was cold in the winter though.. no real heat to
speak of and quite breezy.
The other vehicle is 'her' runner, 2002 Hyundia Elantra 5-speed with cruise.
Love it.
Ok, I'll add the other stuff : 14ft Lund aluminum fishing boat with a 35 hp,
canoe, couple mtn bikes and some plastic sleds, skis and snowshoes..

Re: Other vehicles
Delica replaces the photo.
I gained ability to shift to 4x4 in the cab, parts no longer have to be made by me, the interior is finished.
I lost lots of camper space, and my L300 not very unique!

Hehe that camper was at the Peach City Beach Cruise car auction in Penticton, BC this summer. No idea if it sold or not. Pretty rad. I liked the wood dash...

Re: Other vehicles
Do not think it sold as the new owner emailed me a few weeks ago for more info.
It is built well, just needed some finishing when I sold it.
