Unfortunately my trusted Deli didn't survive a road trip through the praries last week and is now in Taber Alberta (half hour east of Lethbridge Hwy 3) waiting for a new home.
Everything but the engine is working fine, if you are in need of parts or have an inclining to rebuild/replace a toasted TDI this is the van for you! Not sure of the exact issue, but oil in the cylinders was reported and likely has something to do with the troubles.
Due to full time work, two toddlers and no garage makes it not worth my while, but I am happy to pass on the opportunity to someone else.
Highlights:
- Good BF Goodrich tires (another winter no problem),
- new front glass, all others (sky light, sunroof etc) fine and lightly tinted,
- 2" custom hitch (beauty construction, strong enough for the bike rack or trailer too big to tow),
- automatic (just uncouple the drive shaft to tow)
- ~140,000km (I'll have to confirm)
- everything but the motor is ready for more.
- a non leaking fuel pump!
- photo attached is of the van, but before it hit Canadian winters etc so the van today has some rock chips in the paint across the front/bull bar and a million prairie bugs splattered (sorry the van died before it made it to the detail shop) but can still be prettied up
- and a dealer has offered/suggested a ~$1000 value? just want to get give the Delica crew first dibs
Cheers,
Peter

I heard about your problem maybe a little late to help, but I've had a problem like this before. When you flopped it on its side and it sat for a while, the oil will leak into the cylinders past the rings from the inverted oilpan. If you remove the injectors and pump/clean out the oil, put the injectors back in, it should fire up with a little coaxing.
This may be of help but probably too late, sorry mate and good luck.
OOPPSS, This post was meant for the poor fellow who dumped his over.

Sorry, are you selling this van? Tell you what I will move it to the appropriate forum, there you might get some bites.
Also, a diesel engine doesn't work the same as a gasoline engine. Gasoline is solvent and behaves differently from diesel, which is an oil. If oil gets into the cylinder it will mix with the other oil (diesel). They run at completely different compression ratios.
