5 door or RH Slider - What Year

When did Mitsubishi go to a 5 door model (2 sliders), or is it possible to get one with a right hand slider? My wife has just had to put her L300 aside for a Grand Caravan, as it was getting too dangerous having to schlep our young children into the van on the street side. While I enjoy having the Delica to myself, we've both noticed a lot deficiencies in the Dodge compared to the Delica.

A lot of 4WD l300 Delicas in Germany have two sliding doors (and the steering wheel on the left side ;) but I haven't seen any 4WD 2-sliders from Japan yet. It has nothing to do with the year.

Now that's a weird combination. That back seat doesn't look like something you would want to sit on for more than a few minutes! And it doesn't appear to have seatbelts, either.
