Researching yer vans
So far I am very intrigued by the size and capabilities of the Delica(s). Now I need to do my homework and find out more - maybe even test drive one. My family and I enjoy camping. Sooo - what are they like to drive ? to camp in ? to own ?

welcome! theyre great to drive camp in and own. ill likely not own a different vehicle ever, unless i cant get Delicas. you came to the right place. pour yourself a cup of coffee and look around. when i came here i read the forum like a book, going way back to the first posts. thats where youll find your answers. make sure to look at the for sale forum too!

I just got mine, and I have just logged over 1000 km on it, and I can say that after the first 2 hours they are much easier to drive. The RHD drive is a bit of a problem when you first start. After 5 days of driving mine, I am almost driving naturally. (I still hit the wipers instead of the turn signals occasionally).sungrebe wrote:So far I am very intrigued by the size and capabilities of the Delica(s). I would take the advice of After Oil, this forum is a great resource. I spent ages reading it, and the UK and Australia Delica forums as well.
I will be camping in my LWB L400 Royal Exceed this weekend, and I have already tested this, but a queen sized air mattress fits in mine with room to spare.

To camp in? Well, let's see, I've done a 33-day road trip, sleeping in the Delica most nights (trip blog is in the trips section). Since then I've slept in it many nights. Sometimes I think I like sleeping in the Delica better than sleeping in my bed at home.sungrebe wrote:My family and I enjoy camping. Sooo - what are they like to drive ? to camp in ? to own ?
Suggest you modify your profile to show were you live, then it can be easier to give useful advice (like avoiding suggesting going to CVI in Richmond if you live in Nova Scotia). Ask for a meet in your area and I'm sure someone can arrange it. Or just ask to be allowed to test drive one, and someone will probably say, "sure, come on over."
Welcome.
