Guru Jesse....

Post by joedelica »

Hi Jesse,

I know that you have a wee lift on your 400.
I'm looking at the 400 (see pic's) which I believe has a bit of a lift;
would you be able to tell by the pic's if the rims are 16's, and if so,
what max tire size would I be able to put on.

Appreciate all the continued info.

Thanks,

Joe

Those look like 15x7 " rims with 4.5" backspacing.

They are common aftermarket alloy rims (nice looking).

31x10.5x15 is the max. Yours has flares and I can't tell if there was any trimming done within the wheel wells.

To be honest, I can never tell until I'm looking right at it.

Almost every L300/L400 I've lifted/seen lifted has been different in one way or another (things needed to be or didn't need to be done for the proper lift-tire fit).

Thanks Jesse,

Just trying to line things up prior to vehicle arriving.
If they happen to be the size that you described above,
what max. tire size could I accommodate with some trimming?
And what would I trim?

Cheers,

Joe

Confusion say; " Never count on number of egg from chicken until chicken in nest!"
ie: pictures and estimates are never what ends up parked in your driveway. After years of bringing in import motorcycles from around the globe, if I learned anything, it was never believe 100% of what you are told, and only believe 50% of what you have been guarnteed. Not because the people selling the product are lying to you, it's usually just because they are just the broker, and are only going on what the seller told them when they brought it to the auction.

31x10.5x15 tire is the max with a 2-3" lift and requires trimming.

Zooming in it looks like yours has a lot of trimming done on the front.

But you have flares.

Buying large tires before you can fit them or measure is not a good idea unless you can return/exchange them if the size is too large.

You won't know for sure until the L400 is right in front of you.

You can safely go with a 30x9.5" tire.
