Google Street View
Google added a whole bunch more coverage to Street View the other day, but I haven't seen any Delicas in it yet. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places?
I find Street View an endlessly fascinating counter-productivity tool. Not only to revisit places I've been, like my drive to Prince Rupert last summer, but drives I'd like to do, like the Cassiar and Dempster Highways.
Nothing like that is going to happen this year (the eclipse in July http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEmono/TSE ... E2010.html, plus flying most of the year), but maybe next year...

Re: Google Street View
Our Delica is home, as is my wife's Echo, when Google street view went by our place. I'm guessing that I had the Celica out that particular day...

Re: Google Street View
Found this one right away, the Space Antelope at home when not roaming PR's backcountry;
Edit - finding well known Delica is harder than I'd guessed, ie Delicat's Delicas aren't home, Sean's house up for sale with no Delica in sight, all the Victoria Delica I know missing also......... Just have to keep wasting time.

Evidently, I am going to have to wear my dark glasses the next time I see a crystal ball hovering over Lonsdale.

Have they done the Cassiar & Dempster?!?!?!? I'll not check, I'll task you with it <grin>.marsgal42 wrote:I find Street View an endlessly fascinating counter-productivity tool. Now if only they would fix Calgary, where in lots of places the idiot driving the camera vehicle took the alleys instead of the street. Both Green1 and I don't show.

Re: Google Street View
No, they haven't fixed Calgary yet, at least not as of a couple weeks ago. Was using Street View as part of the selection process in our hunt for a new home. We are not overly familiar with Calgary so it was useful to see what is across the street from potential houses on our list. Unfortunately, yes, it seemed that a good number of houses had to be viewed from the back lane even though there was no apparent reason for the Google Mobile to take the back alley as evidenced in his/her own photos.....
Supposedly all license plates and faces are "fuzzed" so as not to invade privacy but all my toys in the driveway are visible for the world to see (scope out)....

If and when Google passes down our humble prairie street I can only hope to be at home so I can dash out and pose naked in the front yard like an overgrown garden gnome.

Interesting - will they only 'smudge' your face, I wonder? You know, for privacy.Jsq wrote:If and when Google passes down our humble prairie street I can only hope to be at home so I can dash out and pose naked in the front yard like an overgrown garden gnome.

LOL, I've decided that is not a good idea. First of all the whole smudging business takes all the fun out of it and secondly my off street parking is being dug up so I wouldn't want the googlemobile crashing into my precious delica!

Re: Google Street View
Ha! The Psychedelica sits poised serenely in my driveway. You won't be finding another delica in street view here in Montreal!
7047 rue Marquette.
As a bonus, just up the block my cute girlfriend can be seen walking to work (red bag), face smudged.

Re: Google Street View
The delica looks very natural in your driveway. I like that area, you aren't far from where I used to live -- Tillemont & de Lorimier -- but that was in my pre-Delica days.JerBull wrote:Ha!
