Engine SWAP
Can I drop a 2.8 into a 2.5 or do I have to change tranny out?? It's a 1993 LWB

The only things that is the same is the air box and the fuse box lid under the hood!
Seriously if you are going to this much trouble it may be cheeper and a lot less hassle to just sell your 2.5 truck and buy a 2.8 truck.
You will have to change almost everything under the hood as there is very little simular between the 2.5 and the 2.8 and you are also going to have to change out the complete wireing harness which will involve removing the dashboard also.
And thats before you even tackle the transmission which also is different.
Also the 2.8 has bigger front brakes than the 2.5(unless the 2.5 is fitted with A.B.S and then your in to a complete other swap!)
It could be done if you have both vehicles side by side for the swap and a lot of free time but as for just a engine swap then i am afraid
its a lot more involved than that.
