Got Ripped Off!!
Bought a 1991 Pajero on ebay from JDM wholesale in BC. Got the vehicle and all shipped to Ontario. But the vehicle came with no ownership. Have been trying for two years now to get the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario to grant me an ownership for it. I have documents coming out my butt...but they still won't give me an ownership. JDM has since went bankraupt and fled to New Zealand and now I can't get the final document I need to get an ownership. Now I have a lovely lawn ornament that looks like a new car!!! Anyone know how to get in touch with Dolphin International Exporters??? Apparently I need a copy of the original bill of sale from them to the importer here, and the bill I currently have isn't acceptable by the ministry!!

Re: Got Ripped Off!!
you could try registering it in a different province first, one of them would probably be a little more understanding.

Re: Got Ripped Off!!
It is not cbsa that has anything to do with it at this point.
They are probably looking for an original (not a copy) with a signature and something that says "paid" on it.
I would suggest getting a rubber stamp with "paid" on it, stamping it yourself and trying that !! worked for me !
(i am kidding of course)

Re: Got Ripped Off!!
I had a similar problem. A vehicle impersonation will work.
Find another vehicle of the same make and model - preferably a beater that is falling apart and not wanted by the owner. Buy it for its ownership papers, and register the beater. Take the plates and slap em' on your road ready Delica. If you're worried about VIN numbers not matching, get under the chassis and file down your VIN number. Someone on this forum might have an old vehicle they use for parts and can sell you the ownership papers?? You might want to keep the whole ordeal to yourself if you know what I mean...
May cost a few hundred bucks, but it'll solve your problem, you'll have ownership papers. Think outside the box... and inside the bars.

Re: Got Ripped Off!!
Before you go and 'work' on the Vin numbers just a precaution, I think you would be opening yourself to a whole lotta potential trouble. If you get into an accident and someone looks to where your secret VIN numbers are hidden to check a hunch it may lead to having your insurance voided. Is the loss of the cost of the vehicle worth the potential 3rd party liability costs? I think there would be other routes to go - ornament or no ornament.

By the time you realize that my signature has no real message or life altering words of wisdom, you're too far into it to stop reading until you are finished

Hi rockinfarmboy,
My name is Taka Kikuchi, and I am the owner of the Big6Imports.com in Vancouver BC.
I may able to find you since I know how the Japanese side, Canadian side and registering a vehicle works.
Please let me know all the documents you have.
Also, when you paid the vehicle, did you pay the money to a dealer/auction house in Japan or did you pay it to the company in Canada.
Let me know and I may able to help you.
