Re: l 400 head lights
The headlights are expensive and hard to get. I was lucky to get mine installed before export, but they still cost close to $800. Mardy at Amazing Auto might have some, but most importers barely have enough to supply their own vehicles, let alone sell them to the general public.

Re: l 400 head lights
the bulbs however should be the normal ones you can find at Canadian Tire... (and I think for the cost of the lights, I will also be investing in some headlamp protector film!!)

I asked at the local Canadian Tire last time I was in there, and Delicas aren't registered on their system (apparently they don't exist
). The girl behind the counter had run into similar questions from Delica owners before, and recommended LordCo or Napa. Haven't had a chance to stop by one of those stores yet.

if your looking for the bulbs, just bring one in with you, the L300 is an H3 the L400 is likely the same but I don't actually know.tonydca wrote:I asked at the local Canadian Tire last time I was in there, and Delicas aren't registered on their system (apparently they don't exist). Many useless and incompetant retailers refuse to do anything if a vehicle isn't "in the book", that doesn't mean that the part isn't standard and on their shelf.
Just grab the bulb, walk in, and look in the aisle with all the bulbs, you'll find it.

Re: l 400 head lights
For a lot of Delica-related stuff, the best way - sometimes the only way - to get replacements is to remove the item in question, show it to the person behind the counter and say "I need one of these, please!" Don't bother telling them what kind of vehicle it's for. I've replaced most of the lights on Gumdrop (an L300) that way.
No Delica is in Canadian Tire's book, but they'll have your headlight bulbs.

Re: l 400 head lights
I burnt out both my headlights at the same time on a trip accross canada, I pulled in to a small town service station to get new ones, I pulled the bulbs out and asked for "2 of these", the person hardly glanced at what was in my hand, instead staring out the window at the delica in his parking lot and told me he didn't have those weird foreign bulbs... I pointed out the bulb on the cross reference chart taped to his counter and he still insisted he had never seen such a weird bulb, but reluctantly called his supplier "I'm looking for bulbs for this weird foreign van, you don't have them, but the guy insisted I call you, they're kinda weird looking... no, I can't describe them..." (me screaming in the background "they're standard H3s!!!!) "oh that? just ignore him, I told him you don't have anything... what? yea, HP or something... H3? well I suppose he might have said that.... you have those? ok... well send some over I guess... though I'm sure they won't fit..."
it was painful! but I got my bulbs, despite this guy's best efforts.
