Re: Exhaust and HP
I bought a used 2.5" SS exhaust with a high flow muffler and noticable improvement off the line (I can't give you an HP rating). I don't believe the improvement was all in my head. I am not sure if it was the high flow muffler or the increased pipe size or a combination of the two...my thought is it was the muffler.
It was not a night and day difference but it did feel like a restrictor plate was removed. The engine just felt peppier. I am pretty sure when I mentioned the improvement to Glen he said that he didn't nice a decrease in power in the van that it came off of when he replaced it with a stock sized system. So either it is in my head or the setup that was on my van was more restrictive than the stock sized one that Glen replaced his with.
Maybe this will help...or maybe just confuse the issue more.

cheap & expensive are both relative to each person.supplespence wrote:ya im also lookin for the cheapest way to get that done in vancouver. so far, i can only find expensive places to get done.
to do a 2.5" full exhaust on a Pajero will run around 400-800 on average give or take cheap/expensive.

Re: Exhaust and HP
Looks good. he welded the new system onto the old exhaust brackets, which seemed to impress all the other guys at budget. They just got this guy in and are quite taken with him. I havent been able to really test it yet because i work late today but i will let you know how it performs after i drive it a bit if you want.

Re: Exhaust and HP
So mainly, I have just found that I get 10kmph more top end than I did before... and a little bit of uphill improvement.
Hope that helps your original question kesandjim.
