eye contact is great but if your waiting for the car to come to a complete stop you have more than enough time to figure out it's a RHD, if you can't figure it out in that amount of time you are too little or too stupid to be crossing the street alone.

I am referring to your recent article 'Be wary of right hand drive vehicles' in Red Deer Advocate.
I have no idea who paid for the article but obviously you are posting crap having no idea what you are talking about. I can put it this way: let's argue about the taste of mussels with those who actually ate them. Did you or do you drive an RHD vehicle being an LHD driver in Canada? Let me guess: the answer is negative. I personally drive an LHD Suzuki SX4 and an RHD L300 Delica Chamonix (I am sure the second one doesn't give you a clue what I am talking about as you did not learn the subject). Do you know what my crash rate is for all 14 years I live in Canada? 0, zero. How can the statiscs you mentioned explain that? Is it a mystery? Is it a miracle? Is it fake? Am I lucky? No, I am a good driver and it does not matter what I am driving. If I am not confident I do not drive.
Now, publishing the feedback from foreign RHD drivers is a dirty trick: they drive on the opposite side of the road in their home countries. Why don't you post your experience driving in Japan or in England?
Echoing one of the comments below your article I wonder how a 25-year ban on imported cars can reduce the RHD-vehicle crash rate. I think the real reason is that the NA car makers cannot compete with Japanese ones and I would call it a North America Car Dealer Mafia. Also why do we need such old vehicles in Canada?
All of this leads me to the conclusion that you did not write this article by heart but someone paid you to make all these fishy statements which is sad.
After all a vehicle is as dangerous as a person driving it. It does not matter on what side of the road your ass is; the brain position is critical though.
I wish you tried driving on the 'right' side one day. If you are a confident driver of course. Otherwise stop posting crap confusing people without knowledge of the subject.

Where did those crash numbers come from? They must come from the same place the NHTSA get's their information. I guess that must be why I can't get a Delica for a few more years.

What really concerns me is that these FUD articles do not reflect the day-to-day experience of driving RHD in Canada.

We trundle around in our Delicas. We go about our business. We have no on-the-road issues. If people even notice, the attention is positive. If people say anything, it's positive. We drive cool vehicles. People look, and they smile. They want one too.

The study this character references, BTW, is a re-hash of ICBC's earlier results, with all the flaws intact. The only conclusion they state is that young men have more accidents. This is news?

Unlike last time, they didn't even pretend to control for vehicle type.

They actually don't even go that far! The only provable fact in the entire study is that JDM vehicles are more likely to file a claim for minor damage (eg. parking lot dings)... (higher claims, LOWER chance of injury) Most likely this can be accounted for by the fact that people with 15 year old north american beaters don't bother carrying collision coverage, but people with a mint condition JDM vehicle worth 20-40 times that value do.

So the question just begging to be asked.......

If I am driving down the road in my Deli, and another driver who is talking on their cell/texting/applying makeup/reading a map/drinking their Starbucks coffee/etc., etc., drives into me, is it my fault because I am driving a RHD vehicle and clearly not as safe as the other driver????
