So I fire up my rig at night and spin on the headlight switch at the end of the turn signal stalk ....... NOTHING happens. Shit! So I keep spinning it back and forth, slow, fast, nothing still. Check the fuse(no burnt ones). Recently I have had to fiddle with the switch a bit to find the "happy turn on lights position".
No dash lights, or side markers, or tail lights. The only good thing is my DRL's work with the ignition so I at least had some sort of visibility to get home.
Once home I tear apart the steering column cover and pull off the steering wheel....everything seems ok, I guess?
Then I flip my fog lamp switch and....Wow, my DRL's go off, fog lamps come on, side markers, dash lights and tail lights all come on!!! WTF?
Is my problem just the switch contacts in the end of the stalk?
I tried to take it apart without really breaking it, no luck.
I've read some similar posts but none that have my exact symptoms.
Ideas?
Thanx,
Sean

Re: Headlight switch no mo worky!
The factory fog switch should be a full override for interior lights/parking lights. At least you've narrowed it down to the contacts in the stalk now. It won't be the column wiring distribution unit since all your lighting works with the fog switch.

Re: Headlight switch no mo worky!
Thanx for the tips and the pm sasquatch-hunter. I was on my way back from Hawaii during your mini meet or I would've been there.
I'm gonna try then to track down a used stalk from maybe CC Autos cuz I would like it to remain as original as possible. Failing that, I suppose I'll be forced to jerry rig a push/pull switch into the dash.
If anyone has any further input I would be very grateful.
Sean.
