Greeting all. I actully introduced myself several months ago after buying my 92 Green over Grey L300 hi roof but due to unforseen circumstances was unable to be in a position to enjoy this great forum until now. So - greetings once more. I have loved this van since the moment I drove it and must thank the gang up at 5 star and CC Auto for all the great advice. I have done few mods except add a folding bed cabinet similar to on I had seen somewhere on Delica.ca and added a side awning from Shady Boy. This is a very well engineered awning designed for Vanagon campers but mounts to a Deli hi roof perfectly. Can't speak to the low roof. Anyway it is nice to be back. Here is a pic of my deli with the awning deployed. Notice it needs no poles or for that matter even the rope stays on a calm day. Totally self supporting. Hope th pics show up okay.

If you drive fast enough with it deployed will your deli fly???

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools..
So nice and compact! Is it sturdy when windy? Easy to deploy and put back in? As you can see we're all only commenting on your awning.. but nice van too and good to have you back!
Yes welcome, I like that awning too but I have a thing against drilling holes in the roof, bit of a pansy I guess. I would still think about getting it and just mounting it to a roof basket as I would likely use them at the same time.

ps. how much for the awning?
It takes no more than 5 minutes to setup and break down. Made in Langley I believe and cost $250 or there abouts. Check out their website http://www.shadyboy.com
