hi guys,
Can anyone recommend a car appraisal person/company in cowtown? My insurance company requires one to be done before I can get complete coverage.
Thanks
Steve

I bought my Delica from Luxury Imports. Part of what was included in purchase was an appraisal. Mine was done by "Appraisals by Doug" (403) 540-0863. Don't know if he does them for just anyone, but I would imagine so. And he would be knowledgeable about Delicas.

I guess you're using the same crummy insurance company as me. They "require an appraisal"...
I only have basic insurance for now because I didn't want to do the appraisal.

I asked my insurance when I was getting my Delica last summer. They said they didn't need an appraisal, but that it would be really nice to have. And since Wayne had one done anyway for his purposes, it was easy to get a copy.
Because there are no "book" values for the Delica, I suspect that the insurance would like an appraisal so they have an idea what the vehicle is worth. That gives then gives them an idea of what the premiums should be.

My trip to Mexico is next month, so I have to start doing things on the car... And getting an appraisal is one of them, that's why I am opening this thread again.
Snelson: Did you find a person to do the appraisal for you here in Calgary? Was it fair + affordable? Would you recommend it?
Please let me know...
Thx,
Fabio

I have been looking to do apprasial on my Deli just so I can get what it is worth, not what I paid, if I ever have it written off. I had a 4 runner a few years back that I got for a steal and it was extra mint. A drunk driver slammed into it outside my house 5 months later. ICBC was gave me 3 grand less than it would have cost me to get a truly comparable 4 runner.
Not letting that happen again. But when I call the insurance company they tell me they do not understand what I mean when I say "apprasial"?
Any one in BC had one done? If so, who should I talk to.

I was about to call 'Doug' listed above, but then my insurance called and let me know that I didn't need one as long as I wanted to insure the Deli based on the purchase price....I think I'll eventually get one done, but not in a rush right now to do it as I think I paid a pretty average price for a 92, but will get one done maybe later in the summer.
