U4GM How to Get 90 Percent Extra Cold Damage Rage Guide POE2 0.4

Post by Alam560 »

I’ve been deep in Path of Exile 2 (0.4) on Druid, tinkering with setups the way you do when the numbers start to matter. And if you’re already farming gear, trading, or just stocking up on PoE 2 Currency for your next upgrade, this little Rage interaction is worth knowing because it can quietly add a huge chunk of damage with almost no downside.

What the combo actually does
Bhatair’s Vengeance Support is the key. The wording is simple, but the payoff isn’t. When a supported skill freezes an enemy, you get a buff that adds extra Cold Damage based on your current Rage. It’s 1% extra damage per point of Rage. So if your Druid is sitting around 90 to 92 Rage most of the time, you’re effectively playing with about 90% to 92% extra Cold Damage while the buff is up. The base buff duration is 20 seconds, which already feels generous, but you can stretch it and turn it into something that’s basically always on.

Setting up the trigger skill
Step 1 is picking a skill that freezes fast on demand. Lunar Assault has been the cleanest option I’ve tried because it already leans into cold conversion and builds chill/freeze quickly. Step 2 is linking it to Freeze Support so a quick tap actually freezes something instead of “almost” freezing it. Step 3 is adding Prolonged Duration Support to the Bhatair’s Vengeance link, which pushes that 20-second window closer to 30 seconds in practice. The idea is you’re not swapping to Lunar Assault to do damage; you’re swapping to it to switch your damage on.

How to keep uptime without griefing yourself
People mess this up by trying to freeze the wrong targets. Don’t waste time bonking a boss that barely moves its ailment bar. Instead, look for the soft stuff. White mobs, low-tier adds, anything with a tiny threshold. Tap Lunar Assault, watch for the freeze, and you’ll see the buff icon pop up. Then you go back to your real damage skill and play normally. Every 25 to 30 seconds, refresh it the same way. It feels almost silly, like you’re “charging” your build off a throwaway enemy, but it keeps your damage consistent through long arenas and messy encounters.

Once you’ve got the rhythm, it becomes second nature: build Rage as usual, tag a weak mob to freeze it, then ride that boosted cold output until the timer gets low. If you’re chasing smoother clears or trying to make your boss phases feel less like a slog, this is one of those small habits that pays off. And if you’re planning upgrades around it, even minor gear changes can feel bigger when you’re also maintaining that buff and managing u4gm PoE 2 Currency for the next step in your build.
