L400 key won't turn in the ignition

Post by bojo »

a couple of days ago started having a problem where the ignition key sometimes will not turn in the ignition. it's just frozen, locked. After some attempts it eventually will turn. Does this both with my main key and my spare, but I'm worried now that eventually it will just stop allowing the key to turn. Any advice will be much appreciated.

wiggle and jiggle the key while sticking your tongue out and down towards the left - Seriously, that works for me when my bike ignition starts to wear out.

My key stopped turning in the lock in my driver side door. My mechanic told me WD40 isn't good for locks and instead recommended using Moovit penetrating oil. I picked up a bottle of that at the auto parts store and it worked like a charm; key turned instantly and now it's way smoother than before.
