Should I chuck the Cool Box...

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Should I chuck the Cool Box...

Post by Morgonzo »

I'm stumped guy's and need some opinions. I love the "all original" nature of my Deli but the Cool Box is starting to annoy me. I have yet to see if it even works but the seal around the lid has turned to powder so I doubt it's keeping any cold in. It also takes up a ton of space that would be great for coffee holders and a CB. Is there any reason to keep it? If I go to take it out does it have A/C plumbing? Anybody looking for a cool box?

It's part of the AC system so you'll need to get it drained, plug the fittings where the cool box pipes come off, and refill.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

I've thought about it as well. The thing that bugs me is I believe you have to have the AC on to have it in the cool mode to keep drinks cold, etc. It would be great if it could be just sent to keep drinks cold without the AC on. Right now I seem to just use it to store junk/manuals/sunglasses etc.

Ok, so now I know not to just go tear it out. It wouldn't be bad for storage except that the lid doesn't open all the way so it's a pain to get stuff in and out

Thanks Takeuchi! I was looking for a post like this that I remember seeing...where Mystery Machine had the box out with all the pipes and such laid out around it in a photo. I'm 90% sure it's coming out. Now would be a good time (funds aside) because I will not need my AC for another month or so.
