best "ignition" wire to tap into (beneath steering wheel)

				Hello!
I'm putting in a boost/EGT gauge tomorrow and it has a "12V continuous" lead and a "12V ignition" lead. My gut wants to splice into the cigarette lighter wire... but I've read accounts that these wires can't handle much draw and I already have two other devices (TM2 and a dashcam) running off that cigarette plug.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a robust wire to splice into for the "12V ignition" lead? Preferably beneath the steering wheel?
Thanks in advance!
-Scott

Black is power feed Blue with white stripe is power on at "on" & "start ". blue is power at. "On " & "acc" Blue with the white stripe is power at "on". Black with yellow stripe is starter motor .

OK, so I finally dug into this.
Apparently my wires a bit different!
Anyone know what these colors could correspond to?
1) Black
2) *Black* with white stripe
3) Black with red stripe
4) Black with yellow stripe
5) Blue
6) Blue with red stripe
7) more smaller ones...

Have u considered tapping into the fuse box? You can check which fuse is what and use one of those fuse extension thingies to make it super easy and clean.

.... and to attest to the cigarette lighter wiring load limit. Used mine to run a compressor(12 V, 15 AMP) and I think it burned out the wiring. The 15AMP fuse of the lighter is fine.

dont tap into any wires.... buy a fuse tap and go from the fise block. Safer, more reliable, no hacking up factory harnes.
