A New L300 just born in Quebec !

Yes I know, there is a RHD ban in Quebec BUT the law is clear: that do not apply to 25 Years Old and older vehicle

So, I just received a phone call from the garage telling me that it succesfully pass the mécanical inspection and that my L300 Starwagon is now approved to be used on the roads overhere !

Some of you may have wonder why I was asking so many questions on the forum: The guy from Quebec, what is he doing here and why is he asking questions

Well I want to tank the comunity for all the help and want to tell you that I plan to go West (BC, etc.) to go for a transcanada trip, hopefully soon and swim in the L300 hotspot for a few days.

Here in Quebec, I know of only 2 other guy that own L300: both registered before the ban.

So, did bought an L300 Stawagon 1990 (febuary 1990) last fall (2014). Craig, from Bonsai Rides got this Rust free 64000km Starwagon for me and he even offered me to deliver the Delica from London-Ontario to Quebec City; while he planned to come overhere on a weekend vacation with his Familly

So, I am a biologist, self worker, single (hopefully not for long) and previously owned 2 Vanagon that I used for sleeping while working in remote (or not) areas. At that time I was not aware of the Delica existence until I saw one on the Web and, of course, found later about Delica.ca. The fact that it is a 4X4, Diesel, AND Japaneese apealed me even more than buying a Vanagon Syncro...

So, here is Sodalite while it was in Japan. Now with new Geolandar tires and a different brush guard (early model) change by Craig.

Always liked the older L300 and you got a very clean unit from Bonsai. NICE FIND
If you make a stop in Calgary on your trip to the west coast let me know and we can arrange a Delica gathering on your route.

I would say meet for Poutine in Calgary but they are so much better in Montreal...really no comparison with that.

BTW: welcome to Delica ownership....you may never go back to a Syncro!

I think the bush bar is a custom job, most of the early Gen III's that I have seen had a rudimentary guard that pretty much only protected the centre section of the front end, like the oil rad, &c.. Looks like an '87? Very clean, nice deck.

When I went to Craig's place last year I saw your van along with mine, and truth be told, I wanted yours. I'm glad to hear your experience with Bonsai was just as awesome as mine. Maybe someday I will be up north, or you will be down south, and we can get together. We have been enjoying our Delica for almost a year now, and we have no regrets. Such fun vehicles, and you won't see yourself on the road. Maybe on the West coast you would, but not out east like we are.
