Hi i am new to the forum
I have a 92 l300 manual. When it was imported they change the dial plate from km to miles. The plate they put in is from an automatic and has the gear letters in the middle which obviously dose not light up but in the bottom right there is a light that says a/t temp. First question is what is a/t temp.

The dial plate has sliped a bit and I have found that next to a/t temp I can see the edge of a red light to the right of it. There is no letteing there but This light comes on when the ignition is turned on then goes off after starting. Second question is what could this be?
Thirdly can you get a dial plate for a manual with out the automatic gear letters and in miles?
Thanks for any help with any of these questions

A/T temp = Automatic Transmission temperature. If the red light looks a little like an acorn it's the "water in the fuel filter" warning light. When starting your vehicle all the warning lights should briefly come on. If any of them stay on then you should pay attention and resolve the issue. If they all stay on then it's probably your alternator.

Cool thanks for the reply
Its not the acorn looking one
The light i cant identify is hidden behind the dash plate to the right of the a/t temp. Can only see a little bit of the light lighting up 1/2 the p on the a/t temp bit. Did the manuals have a diffrent dash plates with different lights on them ? Ive tryed to upload a pic to show where it is
Thanks grib

I have now checked day and night and I don't have a light in that location guaranteed! Your dash layout must be slightly different than the KM/hr display we have.

Okay, I'm at my coffee shop and my wagon is just outside and I had a look. The idiot light to the right of the A/T Temp is (drum roll please): The seat belt light.

Perhaps when you take take it apart you might find that it was taped over. I'm thinking that the person who did the work didn't wear the seat belt and didn't like seeing the light on? Let us know, eh?
