Post by tarhim »

Hi,

I recently (two weeks ago) purchased a 1991 2,5TD L300. It will serve as an expedition vehicle for our Europe trips and in due time maybe also as towing vehicle for trailer with our other 4x4.

We've made trips over southeastern Europe so far in Skoda Forman (a.k.a. Favorit Estate), but however rugged this vehicle is, it's not built for offroad running :)

On the photo, both of our 4x4 family members and my copilot :)

Welcome to Delica Canada, Tarhim :M

Nice Delica, looks pretty fit, as does your co-pilot.
Do you have any modification plans for the Delica and do you have a name for her?

Falco.

Probably a good point. By "her", I meant the Delica.

Thanks for the warm welcome! :-)

I do indeed have a name for my copilot.

As for Delica, so far it has not very creative, but affectionate name "Busik", which in Polish means "small bus/van". It might get rechristened after first trip, if something remarkable will happen.

With regard to modifications, I was thinking about few. It already has isolated dual battery setup installed by one of the previous owners, so that's one thing off the chest. That leaves me with body modifications - bull bar, skid plate and additional lighting.

We need to plan our sleeping arrangements, but for two persons it should not be too hard. :)

Also, I'm thinking about snorkel - not because of water, but to move air intake away from dust. . I'm not sure if it's reasonable, though.
