Ok so for the past month Delilah (my 91 L300) has been throwing hissy fit after hissy fit.. I think it's because my girl friend called her over weight and fat, she took offence to it.
First her turbo went super Nova... had that fully rebuilt with new turbines (hot and cold side) new shaft, bearings and new cold side housing. Then she peed herself all over the ground when her turbo feed line started leaking... So I repaired that... She still wasn't happy though as next the fuel return line (the hard line) broke and spilled diesel all over the road.... now she refuses to admit her sliding door is closed when it IS in fact closed! The light on the dash stays constantly lit... and the rear lights stay on and the door well light won't turn off. The door switch seems very simple.. a make/brake switch. Brake contact when close and make when open with the switch grounded to the chassis. In theory this should mean the wire to the switch is hot correct? However I get no voltage there... I figure there must be a short to ground somewhere in the harness... but how the heck do you take apart the interior on these things?? Is anybody familiar w/ that has some free time? (On that note.. I have a broken wrist so my ability to anything at all is very limited right now :( )

Re: Moar Electrical Gremlins...
Hi TMS. I can show you some of the usual problem areas on the 1991 L300, and where the wires for the power to doors are, and how to remove the door panels to clean and lube bits. Am not expert with electrical tester, but at least I don't have broken wrist. (WARNING: the plastic clips that hold the interior plastic-ish panel in place don't hold well after you re-use them, so I just used a bit of duct tape to help hold the clips in place, maybe some time I will find replacement clips). I live near North Road in Burnaby, so what part of coquitlam are you? You can also PM me. cheers christine, L300 owner since 2007, 1991 L300, and now 1997 L300).
Christine
