i WHEELY need help!
Get it, the title was a pun.. Tee hee hee.
Actually, I don't have a wheel problem, but rather a tire problem. My l300 delica has a nice set of Nexen Roadian HT tires on it. Unfortunately, I wrecked one tire, but the other three are like new. I can't find a replacement tire anywhere!! It is unadvised to have 1 different wheel on a 4x4, but I don't have money to spring for a whole new set. What can I do???
Also, I would ideally like to get a wider rim/tire, and maybe even 16" steely wheels, somewhere down the road. What is the trouble if I just replace the 1 wheel with something similar, but slightly different?
Thanks for any help

Re: i WHEELY need help!
On an L300, change 2 tires, and keep the new tires on the same axle. You don't have AWD, so you don't have to worry about the centre differential. Since you only use 4wd in slippery conditions (right?), the extra strain on the drivetrain will be minimal.

Re: i WHEELY need help!
i do ONLY use my 4wd in very slippery conditions. My delica came equipped with a LSD on the rear axle, and it seems pretty capable of handling just about everything i throw at it, so the amount of time i put it in 4x4 is extremely minimal.

The best way around this sort of pain is make sure you get a good warranty for your tires; having to pay for two when one goes is painful, to say the least. Especially if you do any off-roading, tire mortality can be high.

Good point about the warranty. I am a carpenter so my vehicle goes on many construction sites, and I do lose a lot of tires.
I have a set of almost new 235/75R15 tires. will these fit a stock Delica wheel, or do I need new rims for this? Also, will these fit a stock delica or do I need to lift it to fit these wheels?

I think a lot of folks run those size tires.

Yeah, a lot of guys run these but do they fit on stock rims and height? Or do I need wider rims and a lift?

Re: i WHEELY need help!
well.. i am embarassed......
the tires i have are 31x10.5 R 15, not the previously mentioned 235-75R15's.. apparently there was a mismatched wheel sitting with them.
So.. will a 31" tire fit on a Delica without jacking it up?? also, how wide of a rim do i need for a 10.5" tire?

A 31" tire will not fit a stock height Delica.
They will rub.
I got 30" to go with no rubbing. On muddy or after driving
on the slushy/icy roads buildup on the fenders caused rubbing
fairly quick. 31's would be oooooh so worse. Maybe on metal

Costco is best place to find uncommon tires. they can get anything from anyone, as their suppliers must meet strict contract rules or be fined. look online on the usa site also, and have shipped to bellingham costco etc.
Agreed that 30 inch is max without horrible lifts and mods.
