Meet N Eat Sunday 9June2013 2pm Langley Air SuperExceed Cafe
UPDATE REMINDER : 2 days from now. Rain or Shine. THis Sunday. Who wants to join the convoy there from BURNABY via Patullo???.
Hello All, time for a deli-meet. Meet N Eat, dining at Arnolds new cafe. Bring your families for a fun day out.
Sunday 9June2013 2pm Langley Airport, museum entrance.
We are at Arnold SuperExceed new cafe. Cafe open 7 to 3 daily. Arnold the chef makes most of the food himself, homemade breads and muffins and soups and sandwiches and daily specials etc. Food available to buy before 3pm, then Arnold wants to be free to join the meet and chat to everyone.
Not just delica's but anything you drive (skateboards, bikes, trikes, cars, rv, left or right drive).
Meeting is daytime (wow, no standing around in dark parking lot) at the Langley Airport. Easy route with few traffic lights: Exit 232 from Highway1, then first left after the gas station, then follow road till huge roundabout, right turn onto 56 Ave, until fancy lights at 216 with all the warning lights warning of low flying aircraft, turn left into 216, go past the traffic tower with the blue painted restaurant, turn right at the next gate which is signposted for the Air Museum and Vector Engineering etc. Go straight about half a block to the big tree, turn right, go past the museum to the end of the parking area.
Note that 216 North of airport is closed for construction.
Families can eat in the cafe, lots of tables and even some kids highchairs, then enjoy the museum next door, Or view the restorations of vintage aircraft by dedicated volunteers, or just watch the small planes take off and land (we are in the parking area with a 3 foot high chain link fence separating us from the planes so is child-safe). Washrooms beside the cafe, mere feet from our vans, so easy access.
I will update this email with more info soon.
Just wanted everyone to plan a nice day out, so save the day.
Cheers Christine.
PS Who wants to organize a convoy?
EDIT: The Convoy will leave TardisDeli homebase at 1pm, then travel via Patullo, up KIng George, left onto 104, at 160 join Highway 1. Details in my update email posted 2 june (below).
Falco, you will love the old warplanes there.

Just take Caribou to Patullo, king George to Fraser hwy, the east until corner of 216th.
That's my favorite "avoid the toll" route.

Wicked... Seeing as the Tardis Motel is off the Caribou exit it makes sense... a chain of Delicas traversing the Patullo Bridge!mac_stang wrote:FalcoColumbarius wrote:Contact!

Re: Meet N Eat Sunday 9June2013 2pm Langley Air SuperExceed
OK, sounds like we got us a good old-fashioned CONVOY.
Falco, do you want to come to TardisDeli motel homebase, so you can be Tail-End Charlie on the convoy?
Convoy Leaves from TardisDeli homebase at 1pm. Down Cumberland to 8th, along 8th then left onto McBride. Over the bumpy Patullo Bridge (stay away from the far-right sides, politically and vee-hic-ularly) so you don't fall into the lumpy drain holes. Then slowly up King George hill to 104, along 104 to 160, onto Highway 1.
Can pause at Skyview Camping, which is my very favourite camping supply store, near Scott Road Skytrain, by the McDonalds, about 1:10, to pick up more convoyeurs if pre-arranged.
Can pause at Canada Games pool in New West at about 1:05 to pick up any more vee-hicles, if pre-arranged.
Cheers, Christine of the TardisDeli.

If people who wish to come but don't know where the TardisDeli Motel is, I'll be meeting with Delicaman at around noon at the McDonalds off Willingdon on the north side of the highway then we'll be heading out around 12:15 to meet the others at the TardisDeli Motel.

And convoy will pause at Skyview Camping and Outdoors in Surrey, by the McDonalds & Subway near Scott Road Skytrain/bus station, leaving at 1:10pm.
From Patullo Bridge, stay in right lane, exit first exit, go past Scott Road Skytrain, go past the Biritsh Auto Repair shop on your right, Go straight thru the light, turn right just after McDonalds, go in their parkiing lot, then look a few yards left past the Subway, and see Skyview Camping (see the tents and kayaks on display outside).
Cheers Christine.

Not gonna make it. Camping with a three year old and only one parent is more work than I thought it would be. I'm pooped. Heading home.
