Anyone in the Okanagen know a decent alternator repair????

Post by thehauntedlake »

hi all, my alternator went in Sicamous, I now have the van back in peachland after boosting it every 50kms.

Does anyone in the Kelowna/peachland/westbank/Penticton area know of a decent alternator shop that might be open Monday?

basically looking for anyone that knows what they're doing as far as a rebuild to get me back on the road.

any help or experience with shops in the area would be very much appreciated.

thanks!

I don't know of any shops around there, but if you put a trickle charger on it overnight, you should be able to run it all the way back to Vancouver without a jump (unless you're headed in the opposite direction).

Why not just order a used unit from the JDM dealers on the forum.

Any decent rebuild outfit can fix the Deli alternator, wear parts and internal electronics are of a common variety and the vacuum pump doesn't usually pose a problem as its not going to be serviced anyway by the alternator guy.

A few calgary guys have done this with great success.

I had mine done at Roko in Vernon last year. I think every one of my vehicles has gone through their shop at one point or another.
