Re: Locked keys in the L300
A spare wired underneath somewhere is a good idea... One or two floating around in a drawer is too.
In the meantime, maybe the old coathanger trick could get you in. Never had to do it to my delica, but for other cars something slipped between the window and the door with a little hook to catch the lock and pull it open. I expect it would be the same for a delica. Tricky though, and can result in scratches and frustration!
Good luck - let us know how you make out.

Do you have sliding rear windows? There's a trick to getting in through these. If not, you can use a coat hanger to get in but can potentially damage to seals around the door. If you have a bloop pressure monitor you can use that and a wedge to get in but may damage the window or bend the door. If you have BCAA then just give them a call.

Re: Locked keys in the L300
I tried getting creative. That didn't work! I took a clothes hanger and tied a noose around the end of it, fishing the noose inside the door with intention of snaring the lock in the noose and pulling the lock up to open the door. Brilliant idea, except that it doesn't work very well. My dad stopped by around that point, coincidently, and stood there and shook his head. I could hear him thinking to himself, "you're and idiot", and then he said, "you're in idiot"! I bent the coat hanger the way it should be bent, and opened the door on the first try.
I'm going to try the tennis ball trick. for shits and giggles. (I have already unlocked the door). I don't think it's possible.

Tennis ball trick only works on Mercedes that use vacuum for the auto locks (I am not even sure it works on them)
the only way in is going to be pull the door out at the top and coat hanger (using a wedge to hold the top of the door will help...
