Driving around today in bizarre +3 weather and my exhaust is roaring. I run a straight pipe 2.5" and its relatively new... I check the pipe and it looks good. Then I'm thinking... Pull over and yup...air box cover is half off. My safety wire kept one side clipped (luckily). Popped it back on and rewired the clips to stay on.
Talk about the difference in a free flowing exhaust. LOUD

Re: Roar
It does make you wonder how strangled engines are due to airbox design, on cars I've had before where I've fitted a K&N filter and box, I do wonder if most of the difference was because of the increased air flow of the box.
Of course the whole point of those cars was to go quicker and make noise doing it :D
