My van broke down :((( I am stuck in Helena Montana...So about 10 miles out of town last night I heard a loud noises followed by some sparks at the back so I pulled over and could not see anything hanging or nothing...WHen I started it again, it was running a lot louder, but everything seemed smoth, so I drove into town into the Walmart parking where I spent the night. With my panic, I also overfilled the oil so when I started this morning, I drove 100m away before I got some wicked smoke effect... Here is a picture of where it blew I think. HELP anyone....

You have somehow lost your waste gate cover plate. welding one on is not a good option. Don't think it is a serviceable part, may need to simply replace the turbo ( check first, as I have no idea) Your turbo is a td-04 9b( if memory serves... Chime in boys). I believe the dodge stealth 3000gt uses the same turbo (Mitsubishi eclipse etc..)

Caro, give us a list of everything you had fixed lately. I know you had your turbo changed and we blanked your EGR together. What else?

I don't have the paper work here... Timing belts and other belts, water pump and seals under the belts...The turbo was just redone...

So it's been confirmed by the mecanic here that it is the turbo waste gate cover plate, so I need to source a new turbo, anyone can help with that?

The turbo is a Mitsubishi Td04-9b...this should cross reference as the same turbo used in some early 80's ford's and Dodge mini trucks/cars that came with the 4d56T (Ranger/Ram/Colt) The Stealth 3000Gt and the Mitsubishi Eclipse also share the same turbo with some small variances (actuator rod etc..)
TD04-7 Turbocharger

A good shop/mechanic should be able to source you one in a few days... you can get one through Rockauto.com/Ebay if all else fails. Should run you be between 500-800 complete. The install costs will vary.(4-5hrs?)
Here is a link to a supplier in CA who can expedite you one for just over 600.00
