Rubber Brake Hose - Rear Middle One over top of rear axle.

Post by Grasshopper2Ant »

Hi guys, I need someone to confirm that this rubber brake hose can be crossed referenced with a Montero. I have a 1992 Pajero. Are the end fittings the same. I am concerned that one is metric and one is SAE. Can I get these at NAPA or Lordco?

Thanks for your input.

You should have no trouble with that cross reference, but if you are unsure of the thread pitch of your rubber hose fittings you could take the line to a big truck shop like Fleet Brake. These guys can custom make hard brake hoses which means they have stock on a wide range of fittings and tell you exactly what your Pajero has.

You could always look at more common hoses like 2000-2004 Nissan Xterra which also uses a long flexible brake hose between the frame and the rear diff. Its also metric, just like your Pajero. My Xterra uses a 10mm flare nut for its brake lines just like my Delica L400 and the locking clips are also the same on both units.

As long as you don't install the new part (a finger tight test fit would probably go unnoticed) you could always order one for an Xterra and just return it if it don't work. Oh and if the Xterra one is longer and it fits, all the better!!
Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!
