Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Turbo and exhaust manifold gaskets

Post by nxski »

I know this is a long shot but are there any North American equivalents? It turns out that one of the bolts holding the manifold in place is missing and the gasket is leaking. Thanks

So they use the same manifold gasket but I'll still need to get the turbo gaskets shipped anyway?

I ended up getting RMI to ship me everything recently after posting this but thanks for the response. Also, I've been corrected...one of the nuts fell off of one of the studs holding the manifold in place.

At any rate, I would like to give a big thank you to RMI for being extremely helpful, well priced and easy to deal with! The parts will arrive Monday by noon, the mechanic will work on it Tuesday and i should be back on the road for Wednesday after dropping a good portion of my travel money. :-D

Last time I had two manifolds gasket replaced on a Dodge V8 van (makes the delica look easy to work on) it cost $120.00 both sides...

Just unbolt an rebolt ...post up on http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/ and see if anyone in the area has a shop and can help?

It is a pretty easy job and if you disconnect under the turbo you would need one less gasket...just need to pull the manifolds (intake and exhaust) off studs not remove usually (unless the gasket is really stuck).

If you can get away with not doing the turbo the intake and exhaust manifold
gasket is pretty easy to do. Unbolts slide away from engine, clean surface and
put new one on.. etc.

The turbo gasket usually requires the manifold and turbo to come out, unbolt
and do then replace. It takes the time

I'll tell the mechanic that's what I want done then. I want to do as little work as possible on the van until I'm home and can have CVI do the work and have some income as well. On the plus side the turbo gaskets don't cost too much so I'll just have some spares.
