What is the difference between an L400 series 1 and series 2?

Yeah, different front clip, and the injection pump has an electronic govenor and throtle control. Still a mechanical pump and injectors, just electronicaly controlled. Also some funky carpet patterns.

Almost forgot about the auto-extending step for the sliding door. It was on all the series 2 that I was looking at, but it may be a grade option. Pretty handy though. The steps are otherwise useless the way they are tucked under the body. The other main difference is price. Quite a bit more for the series 2. Crystal lite's are not as easy to find, hundreds of Chaminox though.

Series 1:
Compression ratio — 21:1
Power — 92 kW (125 PS) at 4000 rpm
Torque — 294 N·m (217 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm

Series 2:
Fuel system — Electronic control type distribution type jet pump
Compression ratio — 21:1
Power — 103 kW (140 PS) at 4000 rpm
Torque — 314 N·m (232 lb·ft) at 2000 rpm
