Now that I am looking at the next add on craigslist I see a 1991 for sale for $5907.

hard to say for sure. but i'd like to think a 'brand new' in Canada import is more valuable than a driven in Canada vehicle. hard to know by the ad when or if the $5907 (weird number, eh?) had belts, cooling, etc done.

Mechanical difference can add up to the difference in cost

See I would by one that has been here over a newly imported...When I bought mine it was nice since I new what issues it had and what work it needed and it did not have any surprises yet 3 years later....after oil wrote:hard to say for sure. but i'd like to think a 'brand new' in Canada import is more valuable than a driven in Canada vehicle. hard to know by the ad when or if the $5907 (weird number, eh?) had belts, cooling, etc done.

Here's a substantial price difference
$14,500 for an L400 LWB V6 gas model.
http://www.delica.ca/trader/l400_spaceg ... 6_3000_LWB
$11,400 for an L400 LWB 2.8 diesel model
http://www.delica.ca/trader/l400_spaceg ... _L400_LONG
It's the opposite of what is seen in Japan. Gas models fetch a low price compared to diesels.
Oddball pricing pops up from time to time.
