Hey all,

I got a stupid "it sounds like KA-CHUNK" questions. Forgive me, but I just took it in and they changed all my shocks which has made the ride much better but the reason i took it in for, is still there. So maybe you guys can help me, help them. Basically when I put it in Reverse and give it some gas (especially when I back it down my mother's driveway) I hear a 'KA-CHUNk' from somewhere under the truck, then when I put it in Drive (especially up a hill) it goes 'KA-CHUNK' again. Does not sound good. Any ideas as to what the hell is going on under there? Should I take it in ASAP or can I let it ride a bit as I just spent $600?!

Did they check your bushings when they replaced the shocks?

If you hadnt heard this noise before replacing the shock, it could be shock bushings are not properly installed. also check bushings in the control arm.

drive shaft u-joints have slop in them? they shift everytime you change their rotational direction.
have the van off and in park/gear, get under there and grab the shaft, rotate it and check for excessive slop.

Thanks all. Drive shaft U-joints - Seeing as the sun is out, I'll get under and check for 'excessive slop'.

Cheers.
